Where Dream Jobs Come True

As Disney is traditionally the place 'Where Dreams Come True,' Disney's domestic theme parks are giving Americans the chance to live out their "Dream Jobs" in conjunction with its "Year of a Million Dreams" celebration. Interested parties 18 years and older are invited to submit their virtual resumes online from January 24 through February 20 at http://www.careerbuilder.com/disneydreamjobs to win the opportunity to work at a Disney theme park for one day. Participants will be asked to showcase their most original and creative Disney resumes including why they want to work at a Disney Park, qualifications and skills for their desired position, as well as why this is their Disney Parks "Dream Job." Five finalists will be selected for each "Dream Job" by the public to win the chance to become a Jungle Cruise Skipper, Haunted Mansion Butler or Maid, Apprentice Pirate, Fantasyland Princess-in-Waiting or a Disney Park Parade Performer. Winners will receive a trip to the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California in June 2007 where they will live out their dream jobs. Complete rules and regulations can be found at the above website.

I can't decide if this is just funny or something that might be fun??

Hmmm, I would love to be a princess for a day. Not gonna happen, LOL.

As a kid, I always "knew" I would work at Disneyland. I was trying to decide between living in the castle or an apartment above NOS.

Now that I know they won't actually let me LIVE there, I'm content just visiting the park for fun.

I would love to work at DL for a day, but they don't list my dream job. I want to be a tour guide. I just lurve sharing disney knowledge!

Disney Parade Performer

I am applying!!! MaryJo, do you still have that photo of me high kicking in my tutu during the Parade of Stars? ;)

Anyone want to help me with a creative resume? June 2007 is my 20th Anniversary. We spent our 10th Anniversary there and watched the Hercules parade on opening day.

hhahaahahahahahaha... win to get a dream job? You dont even need a resume to apply to Disneyland... ahh, video resume... i guess it can be fun :)

Feel our Pain! w00t :P

i wonder if you get paid :/

As a real answer from a real cast member I can tell you working for disney has its ups and downs its what you make of it. Also its what you do that determines whether your going to enjoy it. When I first started out at disney I was in outdoor vending (churros, pretzels etc) I couldnt stand it dealing with money and smelling like popcorn. But i always liked dealing with guests. Id sit working a churro cart during fantasmic and evy the yellow shirts who got to interact with guests and watch the show. So 6 months later i switched departments to attractions and couldnt have been happier. Working star tours and space mountain and all the parades fantasmic and special events has been very fun and you meet great people. Ive seen cast testomonials and i think there all true because they fit into their right place here. If you can do that your set :) Thats my advice if your planning on actually working for the company although working for a day would be fun

Well, i understand the ups and downs part of it but I have to tell you I worked outside at WDW for a total of 2 1/2 years and it was the BEST JOB EVER! Yeah it had issues but so does every job. I miss working there every single day and once I left to move home I realized how good I had it. I know it doesnt pay much but it works out in fun! I had the best time working there and so did/does all of my friends. I think this is a great contest for someone who wants to "try it out". Better than my husbands dream job from when he was little. Wont post it so I dont offend anyone! :rotfl:

My dream job at disney would be being one of the dream cast. You know, the ppl that walk around and hand out the prizes to unsuspecting guests.

Although of course it's every girls dream to be a princess I don't think I'd be that good at it. I'd get tired of men trying to fondle me and pose with me in pictures, I've heard this happens but maybe it doesn't. I'd probably slug a guy and that's not very princesslike.

Any grown man that tries to "fondle" a princess is hopefully brought up on charges. Geeze.
