I've been sick for well over a week and tomorrow is my last day of meds. My face is still puffy and stuffed.

How sweet, the poor girl suffers from puffy stuffed face!

Anyway, it just seems to linger on and on. I dont feel myself at all. At least im somewhat mobile, I was on the couch for days.

I've had this horrendous cough too.

I get them ALL the time!! In fact I do believe I am working on one currently. I just don't have time to see the Dr right now. Although I may brak down and call bfore the weekend. I'm going to try starting my allergy pills again first and see if that helps. I prayt you feel better soon.

Have you been to your Dr. yet? If so, did they confrim sinus infection? I've had an upper respiratory infection before and felt terrible. With the cough, could be going into bronchitis - I've had that as well and takes a long time to get over. Definitely call if your Dr. prescribed meds and you're no better. I hope you're feeling better soon.

Unfortunately, I have. They're awful.

I hope you get to feeling better soon. Drink lots of water, that'll help.

Sorry you're sick. I get sinus infections alot. I'd call your doctor if you're still not better. You could have something else on top of the sinus infection that your antibiotic just isn't strong enough for. This happened to me a few years ago where I wasn't better within a few days and my doctor had to give me a stronger med. With just a sinus infection you should feel almost normal w/i 48hrs of starting an antibiotic.

I started to have the onset of one yesterday, but I think I nipped it in the butt with my meds and stayed home today from work to rest.

Oh I went to the Dr. I had to, I thought I was dying! I was a mess. He gave me an antibiotic that is 1 pill a day for 7 days, tomorrow is the last day. But I am definatly not all clear. He said I had fluid in my ears, but my chest sounded ok. Ya right you should hear me! I know the cough may linger but I'd like to breath normally soon!

Yep--I get them all the time--Dr.'s talking sinus surgery.:crazy2: Definitely let your Dr. know, as you should be feeling much better by now. Several times I've had to either switch AB or go through an additional round of AB before things cleared up. Or, like others have said, your infection may have gone into your lungs, and you may need something different. Let your Dr. know and I hope you feel better soon!:sunny:

I, too, am in the middle of getting over one. I was off work 3 days last week. I was so glad DS had snow days Tuesday and Wed. so I didn't have to worry about driving him anywhere. Finally I got into the Dr on Thursday and I am now on 10 days of antibiotics. I am half way thru the antibiotics and, though I feel better, I am still congested.

TC:cool:

Yes, I just had one a week or so ago (with strep throat on top of it)....I thought I was dying, it hurt so, SO badly. But within about 48 hours or so of the anit-biotic I was feeling better and my sinuses started loosening up and I could breathe again. If the AB isn't working for you, go see the doc again!

I have drainage today and am hoping it doesn't turn into an infection, like it usually does. Just have one in October/November and really don't want another one.

I never used to get them........never had one until about 3 years ago. It was a bad one too......(I could describe how gross it was, but I won't.......:teeth: )
Anyway, I don't have allergies, hardly ever get a cold but after visiting the doctor, he said, "Once you get your first - beware you will get them again"
He was right......but haven't had one in a few months :D
Beware of the high dose antibiotic's - they work wonders for what troubles you, but they can also cause yeast infections. This is what happened after I got my first sinus infection. Bonus!
Take care and get well soon! :sunny:

Yes. I'm still dealing with the after effects of a sinus/ear thing now. Fluid in my ear is making me partially deaf and don't even get me started on that darned post nasal drip.:scared:

Yep! Been dealing with this one since late Oct. Have been through 2 rounds of steriods & just finished my 3rd round of antibiotics. I am feeling better than I have in months - (although the weather at WDW 2 weeks ago did wonders for me! - told DH we have to move;) )
The sinuse infection I had last feb nearly resulted in hospitalization (our hospital is a VERY scary place - people walk in with minor injuries & leave in body bags - all too frequently). If I had contracted that sinus infection a couple of months later, I would have been on the news as a suspected SARS case.
Recently had a sinus CT scan which shows a "thickening" in my sinuses. Visited an ENT - he is wonderful, very thorough - but some of his contraptions seem midevil. He wants to discuss surgery - can't even consider that until after filing season.

Best of luck & I hope you feel better soon.
