Marla and I were talking this morning about the "old" days. We both had paper dresses and thought it would be fun to see if anybody else did too. Mine was pink and white. I was scared to death to wear it out because I worried about all the things that could happen to it!

and my sister is on the phone and she hasn't either.....so are we sheltered....or is it because we are northerners......

I'm a southerner and I've never heard of it.

I've had a paper dress. It was a gown they gave me at the doctors office. Wouldn't wear it anywhere though... because it had a big open back... and my behind was kind of hanging out! LOL!

:p

Sounds familiar, I'll have to ask my Mom!

Well, certainly never had one, but I do remember those. Not sure I knew anyone who had one, but they sure were the talk for a time.

If I remember correctly mine was a kind of floral print. It was kind of ugly. I also had gogo boots at one time. Then came the moccosins and poncho. Oh, I thought I looked so cool!

I think we all went that route with the shoes. My very favorite attire was hip hugger bell bottoms, big shirt and those bamboo flip flops with the velvet straps.

Never have had apaper dress other then when I was in the hospital and got a paper gown but I have had licorice (sp) undies. LOL:)

Didn't the paper dresses rip> I know my dolls that had paper dresses had theirs ripped every now and then! LOL

My friend told me about her paper dress once. I believe I was in elementary school during the time these were popular.

No strong feelings about paper dresses, but I love those disposable paper panties ;) ;) ;)

LOL! I had a paper dress, it was like a sun dress and it was pink and white too. I wore it one time and a bunch of young men tried to throw me in the pool (at a party). I never wore it again.

This is too funny to remember :)

I remember them, but I wasn't allowed to have one. :p

LOL Dixie Dreamer! :teeth:

I had two. One was yellow with the Campbell soup kids on it and the other one was black and white with an Andy Warhol look to it. I wore mine to school back when I was in 6th grade. So this would be about 1965 or 1966 for those of you who don't remember them!:p

It's not a southern or a northern thing - it's an AGE thing!! I remember an orange floral one I had in 1st grade that would have been 1966-1967!! I wore my white go-go boots and thought I was Nancy Sinatra!!

I had one that my Mother bought for me when she was away in the States one time. It was orange, yellow and hot pink psychodelic pattern with little tie straps. I was too nervous to wear it though.

I have never heard of these ( except the ones at the doctor's office ;) ) but I was born in 1964.. so maybe that's it...
HOW in the world do you wear a paper dress and not have it rip to shreds??

Never had a paper dress, but my former co-worker made a dress entirely out of paper clips! :)

It was one of the more unusual fashion statements I've seen in my lifetime. She probably would have loved to have been born 20 years before she was so she could have gotten in on the paper dress bandwagon. :)
