What did you wear? (DON'T just say white)! LOL.

Where was it?

The Olivia cruise we are going to be taking has a White Party as a theme night.

Just wondering how your experience with a White Party might compare.

I've never understood these things....

I'm just saying, one Bloody Mary or Cabernet gone astray and the whole thing is over!:confused3

LOL! And I'd imagine that happens from time to time!

The SoBe one is a fund raiser for HIV/AIDS. The many others are mostly just parties where everyone wears white on white.

Sounds like fun, and I'm not going to worry about renegade Bloody Marys, cabernets, pinot noirs, shiraz, chateauneuf du pape or the like! LOLOLOL!

I think I may actually be looking forward to getting away from all the depressing stuff and having some real fun!

Hey, anytime I have been to a party on a crusie ship, its been fun!

I'm sure you will enjoy!

Mmm. LOVE your wine choices. I was just recently introduced to the world of chateauneuf du pape. Yummy!

Mike is right! Have fun on the big boat!

LOL! We intend to! :teeth:

Chateauneuf du pape is my DPs all time favorite red wine. Not to say that I don't enjoy it too, but she REALLY likes it. :teeth:

We actually found a white one one time too. :confused3 We debated, and then chickened out.

Have you tried Cork and Olive or Put a Cork in It? Not that they are great resources for chateauneuf...but they can be fun places to visit. The Peace label at Cork and Olive is pretty nice stuff, as is their Moroccan olive oil! LOL. Odd combination of merchandise, but fun none the less.

I remember starting off wearing white - but I don't remember anything after that.

LOLOLOL!

Yes, WallyB I've heard those sorts of stories too! :teeth:

Well, did you have a good time as far as you can recall? :teeth: Or shouldn't I ask? :scared:

Cork and Olive is VERY close to our house, and we've tried it a couple of times. It's awfully pricey, and the majority of the wines we like can be purchased next door at Publix (and that's even the Publix where we do our normal shopping.)

Have you been to The Wine Room in Winter Park? We went last week and LOVED it! (and it's where I tried the chateauneuf du pape). Wish there was something like that in our area.

I remember having several good times-
I think some of them were at the same time. ;) :) :upsidedow

Can't argue with Publix. That's where we get most of our wine too.

No, haven't been there, but have heard that it is a great place to try. It's far for us though (we live west of you).

We have a discount card for Cork and Olive... they do tastings on the third (?) Thursday of each month? At least the one near us does (we used to go to the one near you, but another opened closer to us).

Have you been to the wine bar in Winter Garden? The name escapes me right now. We've been by, but only during the plant festiva/sale. I think it does a bigger coffee business than wine, now that I think about it.

The Wine Room is normally a bit far for us as well, but since we're on a quest for a "hang out" now that the Adventurers Club is closed :sad2: and we've got friends from all over the area, we're trying a variety of places. Haven't found anything that works yet.

Where is this wine/coffee place in Winter Garden?

We've also got the discount card for Cork & Olive, but the wines we buy are still typically cheaper at Publix. (though there are a couple that they have at C&O that aren't at Publix, when we want them.) We've been invited to the "Sip 'n' Dip" events on Thursdays, but Thursdays are one of our "going out the club . . . er . . . going out with friends" nights so we are rarely free on a Thursday night.

It's in the little area of downtown Winter Garden that has been "restored." Sorry to be so vague but we don't often go there (live south of 50).

Finding a good hang out is hard work! Hope you find a place you really like. :)

On Olivia we have seen anything from fancy dresses, tuxes, simple white suits, dresses to jeans with white ashirts. I would go casual. Just remember if you chooses to go in the pool (which is frowned upon but oh so much fun!) that you can see through white.LOL!

That was the last one we went on. Our was a pink and white (we cruised for a cause). Those were the only pictures I can attempt to put up in a space like this :rolleyes1

I picked those out so you could see what people were wearing in the background. And No I am in none of them!!!

Thanks for the photos!!!

We are planning on doing casual white. Yep, know all about the see through nature. Got caught in a downpour once upon a time in a white outfit. :scared:
