did you ever cut school?

Sorry, I don't think this qualifies! LOL:teeth: Cutting school to do school work??????

My mom was the same way. This is how she woke me up in the morning for school " get up, it is 6:30, are you going today?"

I know - pathetic, huh? It was weird, though, because my mother never let me stay home in elem unless I was throwing up or I had something visible like mumps, measles or chicken pox.

This is where my boys are stupid. I tell them if they are on top of things and I can trust them to get their work in on time I'd ok certain mental holidays. If my son always did his work and had good grades if there was a really good surf day I'd let him take a day off. As it is if they keep their absences under control I'll let them participate in sr. cut days.

I skipped a lot of school. My senior year I also worked full time and so if I felt like missing school my mom would write a note saying I was ill. I missed close to 30 days my senior year. I did keep my grades up...As and Bs. And the school did ask for dr. notes at the end of the year....no problem I also have a dr. that will write me note out of anything. And the school nurse was convinced I had chronic fatigue syndrome, I'm not sure why...I rarely ever went to the nurse's office and she she would make sure I graduated.

On Mondays I was usually hung over, so I rarey went to school on Mondays...yep, mom would write a note. I skipped Senior Skip Day, yep mom wrote a note. I never did skip and my parents didn't know about it, so I guess I got caught every time.

This is the same school district our ds is in and they are not real strict about kids and school. A student is only required to be in class 90% of the time...that means 18 absences before they even start to question you. Even then it is real easy to make the missed time up, either with Saturday school or extra homework.

didn't cut again until high school. I became adept at forging my parents signature, and would occasionally create a note for myself saying I had to go to the orthodontist (ahh, the good thing about braces, all of those appts.). I never got caught, but my sister tried the same thing...she used her own handwriting and was nailed.

Oh, gee, I did the same thing. Except I forged the signature of the attendance lady! I got away with it all the time.

Yep, quite a LOT! They added a rule while I was in high school that if you were in homeroom and not in a particular class for 3 times, you'd fail! So we just skipped all day instead :earseek:

Yep. . .so many people misunderstood this concept. ;) The secret to getting away with class cutting was to miss homeroom, too!

Yes, I did a few times my senior year, and no, I never got busted. :teeth:

me too. ::yes::

nope. Didn't need to. I had a pad of hall passes signed by
my music and drama teachers. Anytime I wanted, I just signed
myself out of a class and went to the music or drama building
to sleep, practice or sometimes:o goof around. My high school
days were easy and fun. I did get "in trouble" once for talking
back to a teacher. The vice principal later told me I was right
but I couldn't talk to teachers like that. :)
I also staged a student walk out for women's rights-basically
the right to wear pants when it was cold. We had a campus
high school and were outside every hour. The whole student
body walked out-it was great!
