my husband and i are staying at Por in october 2005 for two weeks, do you reccomend staying here and if so what rooms are your favourite.
Can you also reccomend any good things to do at the hotel if you are having a day off from the parks. :Pinkbounc

We love POR. We have stayed in the AB section and in the Mansion section. The Mansion section is more romantic. More formal.
We ate at Boatwrights and went to the lounge area. Bob J. was there and it was a hoot.

We love to just amble around this resort. It is so peaceful. You can take a boat to DTD and check out the night spots there.

Relaxing by the pool, with a nice 'adult' beverage in hand is fun also. I think you will really like POR.

We LOVE POR!!

We have stayed at both AB and the mansions. The mansion section is my favourite. It doesn't seem as crowded as AB (and the buses seem to be less crowded as well).

Walking around the resort is gorgeous. On your days off you can rent boats, bicycles, or take the river boat to DTD. You can also walk to the French Quarter and use their pool.

It is a fantastic place to stay. :D

POR is the best. DH and I disneymooned at CBR in '98 then brought DS's (2 and 4) to POR in May '04. We stayed in Alligator Bayou section and loved it! The landscape is thick and lush in the AB section, although beautiful and formally groomed in the mansion section.

We enjoyed all aspects of the resort, the food court is great, Boatwrights was awesome ( although slightly pricey - but worth it) the pool is great and has a kid friendly water slide, pontoon boat ride to Downtown.

We are already planning (and saving for) our May 2006 trip and will be staying here also. We're actually going to stay 1 or 2 extra non-park days to hang at the resort & play in the pool, ride bikes, rent mouseboats etc.

My DD & I have stayed at POR 10 times, with the last being Dec.04. I concur with everything said - it's a great resort & a wonderful place to wander around & enjoy the amenities. Our favorite building is AB 27 - no chance of a parking lot view & close location to main bldg., south bus depot, & main pool. Have a wonderful 2 weeks! :D

Another good report here. We were there Dec. 18th to 23rd, 2004. Loved it! Our first onsite stay. We stayed in the Mansion section in Magnolia Terrace. The bridge to cross over to the main area was right outside of Mag. Terrace. It was a short and beautiful walk over to the pool and food court. We are going back in August with our kids. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend POR to anyone. We also walked over one morning to FQ. Wow! Lots more kids, which is okay, but we were celebrating our anniversary so we were looking for a more quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Found it at POR. Great pool, hot tub, bar, food court restaurant, gift shop, everything.

we stayed at POR last May and loved it!
The views were beautiful and we enjoyed the pools and walking the river bend. Also loved the boat ride to DTD!

Only thing I would have changed: I would have liked to have stayed in a building closer to the food court.

You are going to love POR. We were there 12/29 to 1/2. Our first time staying onsite and so glad we picked POR. Stayed in the Magnolia Bend section - Arcadian - 3 minute walk over the bridge to food court, gift shop, restaurant and main bus stop. You can rent boats right at the dock at the main building. Take a boat to DTD, 20 minute, relaxing ride. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was right near a "quiet" pool, and that is exactly what is was...quiet. Have fun!!
