Did you do EMH at MK on December 30th last year??

and if so, what was it like? We are planning going to MK on Dec 30th to see the special NY fireworks, we're doing Epcot on NYE. We will probably stay at MK to do EMH afterwards. Last year they had EMH on the same night just wondering if anybody was there.

We did. It was very, very crowded at first. We arrived into the MK around 7:30 or 8:00 I think (park was not closed to capacity but be aware it could). We were able to do some things like Splash Mountain with very little wait (its cold that time of year and after dark Splash does not draw many people in has been our experience). We saw Spectro first on Main Street. Then we got a spot near the hub for the fireworks which were just incredible. Following the fireworks when EMH began we did Hall of Presidents and Country Bear Jamboree since those aren't that popular. We did a few things in Adventureland and noticed around 1:30 lots of people seemed to be leaving and suddenly around 2:00 you could just feel the difference, hardly anbody was around. We then headed into Fantasyland/Tomorrowland. It was deserted! We did what we wanted there, rode Indy Speedway with absolutely no wait and did Space Mountain several times, Buzz and Stitch all with zero waits. As I recall we did Space one last time, boarding just before 4:00 a.m. What a night. My funniest memory was of some cm at Snow White begging us to come ride, they were all lonely in there! We said sorry, no Snow White when its this deserted! What we saw that night was tremendous crowds until about 1:30. After that it was amazing how the place cleared out. This kind of thing worked well for us because we are from Colorado and its two hours earlier for us. Also, we spent most of that day at the resort pool and went to AK around 3:30 until about 7:00 and then headed to MK from there. You definitely have to give it some time to clear out but people do leave well before its over, its chilly, people have been at it all day and if you have the energy you can have a ball. Its weird to leave MK at 4:00 a.m. I must say! Our bus to POR/POFQ was us and one other couple. My husband joked we should just go sleep in the CR lobby and head back in at 7:00 a.m. when it opened for morning EMH!

We did Jan 1 last year, Magic Kingdom was open until 3 am, and we had the same experience. Around 1:30am everyone seemed to leave. Then at 2:15am the castle went out, it was dark. People really poured out then. We stayed until 2:45am, got some great pictures of the Castle lit up in white, and rode everything that was open.

Tracy,maybe we'll see you there We intend to go to MK on the 30th but not stay too late as we want to do early EMH at Epcot the next day and do some rides before the crowds get in.
