Did you cry??

OMG!!! There is a whole thread of you people!!
That's great!!! It means I'm not alone... :grouphug:

I cry at a lot of the same triggers as you guys - the first view of the castle from main street - and other classic and magical things that I do or see during the day.

I think on my next trip - as I walk up main street and gettin all misty eyed - I'm gonna look around and see how many other people are teary too.

Emotional type person or not - its tough to hold back as the magic starts soaking in!!

Picture this. First trip to DW with the kids (4 and 6). First day. Waiting outside of MK for the park to open, a CM comes up to me and asks me if my family would like to help open the park. Course, I have no idea what she is talking about--but when she starts to explain it, I start bawling while saying YES! Poor woman thought she'd have to sedate me.

So off we go, the "park opening family." Imagine a happy hubby, 2 happy kids, and this strange, smiling and crying woman. :lmao:

Lesson learned for all you lady posters out there with "congenital sniffle defect"--clear mascara! No smudges!

I have always found something at WDW to make me cry.

However, I'm looking forward to this December, when we will be taking DS for his first trip (and 5th birthday). I'm gonna be tearing up the whole trip!

I cry when we drive under the Disney World sign...
I cry every time I see Wishes...
I cry the first time I see the castle, every trip...
I really cry when we have to leave!!! :confused3

Trust me your not alone. My daughter and I have been to MK and the worlds before but this is the first time for my husband. So yeah I can't wait till he sees the excitement on our daughters face. :cloud9:

I totally cried when we took the kids last fall. On our first night we ate at Chef Mickey's and watched the fireworks from a balcony at the Contemporary Resort. My DD(4) was so excited by the whole day--flying, meeting Minnie, Mickey and Goofy at dinner and then the culmination of seeing fireworks over Cinderella's castle, and she turned to DH and I and said. "This is the best day of my whole life!" We looked at her with her big eyes full of wonder, wearing her Minnie Mouse dress, and both of us broke out into tears. I swear it was one of the coolest moments of parenthood--knowing we brought the kids to Disney where they had such a magical time.

And now I am all teared up just thinking about it. Good thing we're going back!

Now You've all got me crying just reading this thread. I forgot about American Adventure since I skipped it the last few trips but yeah, that one gets me too.

We have been going to DW for the last 15 years. Now that my daughters are in their late teens, I tend to get emotional each year remembering them young and our fantastic visits and fun we have all had together. The best part, we are still going and they say they will continue to go with us in the future. I will still have to pay though!

When the monorail says "if this concludes your visit to Walt Disney World..." and it's our last day...

While watching Wishes, my daughter, who I'm holding, whispers in my ear that she made a wish to be a princess....

I can't even turn around and look at the castle when we're leaving. I'd end up running back to it and hanging on to it like a four year old hanging on to mom's leg.

I cried:
During wishes
During Voyage of the Little Mermaid when King Triton says he's going to miss Ariel.
At the opening of the Magic kingdom

Oh gosh yes! Especially when my DD saw Cinderella's castle for the first time from our balcony at Contemporary. But every time we go there's something magical I see, especially in my DD's eyes, that makes me teary!! It's those moments I never want to forget.

I was 16 when I first got to go to Disney World. We were watching Wishes for the first time, when my little brother who was 5 then looked at Mom and Dad and said "this is the best year of my whole day" ....lol. He had gotten mixed up. It was so cut. But I cried like a baby....

I am so glad I am not alone :sunny: I can be a cryer, but when comes to Disney, forget about it! We first took our dd when she was 2 and as soon as I recevied the planning dvd and saw the other families enjoying their trip I lost it! Then pretty much every morning, in each park, there was at least one moment when I got a little misty! I am sure this time, going with such a big group, including my parents, will be even harder to control the emotions!

This sounds like me!!! The funny part is... you'd never guess it in real life!!! I'm one of those tough girls that would rarely cry (outside of WDW!)

Please, help me keep my secret... don't tell anyone!!!

This is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO me, I almost never cry...unless I'm at WDW! :rotfl:

I get misty watching Wishes, I even get misty here at home when I listen to the CD!

I puddle up when I see the castle.

I puddle when the kid's get a hug from their favorite character.

I puddle up when they sing Circle of Life in the Lion King show....

I'm TERRIBLE and believe me, none of my friends would ever believe it
if you told them!

The best though was when the whole family went to WDW and at The Crystal Palace, my 2 year old nephew ran right up to Pooh and gave him a kiss on the nose. My Non-Disney brother did more than puddle and I have it all on video! -- Disney just effects people like that!

Okay-this may sound lame, but did anyone cry the first time they took their kids to Magic Kingdom. I AM NOT an overly emotional person, but sometimes, when I am thinking about walking under the railroad and onto Main Street with them for the first time, I get a little misty... This is the only place I think I can say this without sounding like a loon!!

On Main Street , on our first day at MK, ONE OF THE BEST DAY'S IN MY LIFE , :goodvibes :goodvibes

MY DS was 6 year old

, I will never forget that day!!!!!!!!! ;) JUNE 6TH 2004

My DH thought I was nuts when we first started dating...I'd be listening to a disney CD and I'd start sniffling at one of the songs (especially the music to spectromagic...or any music for that matter!!!) and he'd just look at me and say "are you crying again? I'm going to take the cd out if you're going to start crying again.." I'd just laugh and pat his leg. poor thing..at least he knew early on what he was getting into...

as for my future kids...if they think I'm odd wait until they see Grandma (my mom) when "when you wish upon a star" comes on...I used to laugh at her (not in a mean kind of way) when she'd start crying....now I AM her!!! LoL :rotfl:

I cry every time I go.... but you're going to love this one... LOL! :rotfl: We took our 2 girls for the first time in Dec. 2004. They were 4 and 2. The 4 yr old was afraid of anything in costume so I thought I was prepared.... picture this now... Day 1... we're outside the turnstiles of the Magic Kingdom waiting for the park to open...... the monorail is above us and we're finally back in Disney for the first time in 5 years.... my longest stretch not going!!!LOL! My eyes are just welling up with tears at the prospect of sharing this magical place with my 2 girls finally.... my favorite place in the world!!!! I look down to see my 4 year old DD in the stroller crying her eyes out.... she glances up and bawls out "I WANT TO GO BACK TO THE HOTEL!!!I DON'T WANT TO GO IN THE DISNEYWORLD! I AM AFRAID! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THE CHARACTERS!!! Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhh!" And so began our trip.........................................

Hoping for a better outcome this Sept/Oct!!! :rotfl:

I cried when our 3 year old DD saw Cinderella for her very first time. She gasped and said "Mama she is beautiful". Okay it doesn't get more magical that that.
