My in-laws don't believe in credit cards. But they have no problem taking out a loan every time they need to buy a new dryer, etc. It is essentially the same thing, only it prevents them from using a credit card for day-to-day purchases. If a family wanted to pay for a vacation with a small loan instead of using a credit card, making payments every month, I don't see a problem with it.
DH and I do what so many here do: we use our Disney Visa to make payments on our vacation every month and are fully paid off long before the vacation ever starts. Then we take advantage of the nice chunk of "free money" we've earned using the credit card for groceries and gas to pay for food and souveniers.

Talk about a total surprise! It was a mess. Then they closed the doors. Nice. Little did we know, the CEO and CFO were in "kahoots" and they took the money, leaving us all high and dry.
Like I said in an earlier post, if I don't have it in the bank, I dont' go. I wait until I can save up my money and go with peace and joy.
