The Holiday Blizzard of 2010 has hit! We got 14.2 inches here and still have lots of wind. How are you managing?

We already have 37 inches of snow here in MN. We are getting another one over New Years Eve. We have the equipment to move the snow, but we are running out of places to put the snow. We are use to having snow and long winters, but this much snow has been crazy! We watch a lot of movies and only go out to go to work.

About a foot here and lots of wind too! No work today, yeah! Time to check the Dis Boards!!

Here in Georgia, we don't have anything as bad as those in the Northeast.
We got snow on Christmas day which was cool and have freezing temps since then so it's still on the ground. It's windy too.

Northern Georgia was hit harder than where I live.

But I feel for anyone with the blizzard. We left MN 24 years ago because we just couldn't take all the snow and cold any longer.

I hope the weather improves for everyone soon!

About a foot of snow here in NYC. Fortunately, it's NYC, and the city does a pretty good job cleaning it up. MTA asked everyone to stay home this morning, if at all possible. I guess we'll venture across the street tp Trader Joe's later, but otherwise, just enjoying a bonus day with husband and cat.

Stay warm and enjoy the day.

Not sure how much snow we got here - at least over a foot. I haven't ventured outside yet. My office was closed and DH is working from home. We might venture out later - the snow stopped a few hours ago and the wind has died down.

37 inches since when?!

Miracously we are being spared this storm, but there are 3 more months to go. Snow didn't used to bother me...I was young and foolish. Now I hate it. People who move to Florida...or wherever it doesn't snow and then say the miss the seasons baffle me. I would move to Florida in a heartbeat (if my family would come with me) and never miss any of it. Yeah, fall is pretty, but I'd give it up no problem if meant no. more. snow.

We're fine here in Glen Rock. Forecast was all wrong. Called for 8 to 10 "or even more" inches--we got exactly ONE INCH.
Wind is blowing though---

25 inches here in edison, nj. yesterday there were heavy bands that stalled over us. we had 2 inches per hour at some points. my aunt in horntown, virginia got a bout a foot.

I can't even IMAGINE 37 inches of snow! We got maybe 2 inches here which is just unheard of at Christmas. It was beautiful and the kids had an awesome time using the sled!

There are things about upstate NY that I do miss.

The proximity to NYC and all it offers
That clear, crisp perfect autumn day
The trees in the northeast.....palm trees are nice, but they dont have the
same "permanence" for lack of a better word
The infrastructure that allows you to get across town in minutes instead of
hours

The main thing I dont miss is *S*N*O*W*.

No thanks. No Way. No How.

Dont want to see it, taste it, shovel it, scrape it off anything, drive in it....you get the idea.

Give me a good ole hurricane over a nor'easter any day.:thumbsup2

We're out in western New Jersey (kind of north/central). We have maybe 6 inches - we were lucky! Now it's a lovely sunny day - but cold and windy. Because we work in the snowy part of the state, we stayed home today. We checked out the news this morning and they said the roads were slippery and treacherous, so we opted for safety.

:confused3 I weathered it just fine! Our temps are in the 30's and less than an inch of snow. :lmao:

I would love a good snow, we get one every 8 years or so.... We are due for one but it needs to come on a school day. I hate a good snow wasted when there is no school! :lmao:

We got about 18 inches of snow and here I am at work. :sad2: I came in late but the roads were still pretty bad. :scared1:

Amanda

We got about 15 inches here in Peabody, MA. I do love the first big snowfall of the season. Especially so close to Christmas. With that being said...I would be fine if it doesn't snow for the rest of Winter.;)

HI

We are all shoveled out but I am home for the day 12 plus inches here in Massachusetts. I love it because I can finally catch up on my dising:cool1:

We got about 14 inches here in Southeast Virginia (near VA Beach). My DH and I moved down here over a year ago and were told that they never get snow. Well, so far the first 2 winters we have experienced a severe snow storm each time. It is like I never left Michigan.
