Did you bake your crocs?

Has anyone tried wearing the darker colored crocs to WDW in the summer? I love the spring colors, but I know I'd get more 'use' out of the navy or black ones. I was wondering whether or not the dark colors attracted the sun enough to make your feet really hot. Thanks!

One more question...I'm going to go buy myself and my DD5 a pair today. How do I know that I am buying the right size? Does sizing compare with my regular shoes or do I need to go up/down a size? Also, do you buy them to fit loosely? Thanks!
I have a pair of navy Crocs and wore them to Williamsburg last summer when it was 98 degrees in the shade!! I thought I was going to keel over from the heat and humidity, but my feet felt great...never to hot and did not hurt!

Do they make your feet sweat? :confused3

I wore mine for four days straight in the parks last year... and later throughout the caribbean on a cruise....and my feet did not sweat at all!

In the past, I wore my Birks to the parks... but this time, it was 100% bright Pink Crocs! I did get a lot of stares.. but when someone mentioned them, I took them right off my feet and I made the person hold it! They couldnt believe how lightweight they were.

I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone!

Well, a few things about Crocs (the real ONES!)
DO NOT BAKE THEM! They cannot get warmer than 180 degrees.
They are specifically made to gently warm and mold to your feet naturally.

Do NOT put them in the microwave, the dishwasher or the washing machine.

To clean, simply wash with soap and water, or to steralize, use ten parts water to one part bleach. If you want the luster or brilliance back, wipe down with a little Armor All and a soft cloth. Many just wear their Cocs into the shower to wash.

Crocs owns the patented material, Croslite, it is a proprietary closed cell resin which is resistant to foot odor (it is anti-microbial), making your feet sweat and has a REAL orthotic foot cup, arch support and tarsal bar. They weigh no more than four to six ounces.

The fakes/knock-offs/imitations are nothing like the real Crocs. If they are not Crocs, and do not have the Croc Logo and Crocs name on the bottom, they are not true Crocs and do not have the benefits. While they may look like them they are not the same at all.

You cannot compare a fake to a real Croc shoes, the benefits are not the same. It would be like buying a Kia and putting a Mercedes logo on it. :sunny:

I have very wide feet. I have 8 and a half size feet. I bought the size 8 from Zappo because I was told they were sized large, to small. I tried the size nine Cayman style in Nordstroms but the the bridge on my right foot was to tight, left foot was great. Should I get the Beach model? Are they wider? Or would the bridge on the Cayman style stretch with wear? What should I try? Thanks for any replies. My feet are desperate!!!!!

I've got really flat feet too. The Crocs were okay for me, as far as just slipping them on and running to the store, but not for any great amount of walking. They just didn't have enough support. Birks had wayyyyy too much of an arch on them. They hurt just to put them on. I did get Teva Hurricane and absolutely loved them. I hardly took them off all summer long last year! I'm really looking forward to trying the pretty ruggeds.

I have flat feet too and have three pair of Birkenstocks. They do feel like they have too much arch when you first wear them, but after a couple weeks of wear they mold to your feet. My wife has crocs (we jokingly call them gators) but I haven't tried them yet..

The Beach shoe from Crocs is a bit wider and has a higher instep than the Cayman style. The Cayman is just a more narrow version of the Beach, so for you, go with the Beach style. :goodvibes

I have to have a WIDE width shoe. Are the Crocs naturally wide, or should I plan on ordering a size larger to compensate?

FYI, the OP said the baking process was supposed to be done at 130. So I believe the goal is not to COOK them, rather, to warm them.. the oven seems like it is only one of several methods people have found successful. ;)

I apologize for my ignorance, but what are crocs and where do you get them? Are they the one that are sort of rubber-like with :scratchin a strap around the back?

See my sig -- those are crocs. I have knockoffs that I bought at Shoe Dept (only because I live in a small town and that was the only store with them). My cheap knockoffs ($10) are just as comfy (if not more so) than the real Crocs ($30). I like both.

But to stay on topic -- I have not put mine in the dryer or the oven.

I got the Beach model and put them in the dryer for maybe 3 minutes, just enough to warm them up. I found I was between sizes and my toes were being pushed by the back strap. After warming them I wore them and now they fit perfectly. :thumbsup2

Naw, we just threw ours on the barbie, lol

sorry could not resist the title :lmao:

I needed that.... I haven't had my laugh today... :lmao:

OT: I only have the payless ones and they are comfy.
Want the real deal but not sure how they fit so I have to wait until I go somewhere to try them on... a little FYI if you get the payless ones and have aaa you can get 10% off.. wish i would have known before i bought mine

I haven't had the need to with my Crocs except for the Aspen (closed toe) model. I put them in the dryer for about three to four minutes to mold them. My Beach model did not need it.

I didn't bake my caymen/beach (can't remember which) but I did put my niles in the dryer for a few minutes and then put them on with thick socks and they molded nicely! :thumbsup2

It is best to break in the Crocs naturally.
The main reason is because when you heat them and put them on, you may not have your foot in the correct place or position which will them make the shoes fit you incorrectly. Normally when people heat them up, they put on the warm/hot shoes and only have a small place to walk around and when you are not walking as you would normally walk, you will have an incorrect fit....forever! Crocs are not meant to be heated! But if you choose to, you may actually harm the shoe or mold them to an incorrect fit.

It is best to break them in naturally- walking in them and letting your body heat, weight and normal walking pattern mold the Crocs to your feet.

If the heel starp is too tight and pushes your toes to the front, simply stretch the strap three times (GENTLY) sideways. Grasp the left side of the strap with your left hand, grasp the right side with your right hand and then stretch sideways...repeat three times and try it on your foot. If you need a little more, repeat the process.

DO NOT pull the strap back and stretch as that may break the rivets.

I am not sure if Crocs are available in England but I know there is a shop in Sweden.

I would love to get the Niles, but I want to try them on before buying, and there is not a store here that sells the Niles. I've got the Beach, and love them. I heard a rumour that there was going to be a Croc's store opening up at MCO. Is this true? When? Or, can anyone suggest a store that sells Niles in Kissimmee, or Orlando? Perhaps I could pick them up next trip to WDW.

PS. I put mine in the dryer for a few minutes, and then wore them for at least 10 minutes. Actually it was far longer, because once I got them on I didn't want to take them off.

I am a recent crocs convert and I'm "molding" mine to get ready for WDW trip in 25 days. So what with me wearing them out - I've gotten a ton of attention. Some great - cute guys. Other not so great - I was in Kohls over the weekend and three Kohls workers were hanging up clothing as I was looking through the clothing and two of them must of said something snide about how ugly they are cause the other nice employee said how they are a hit with Nurses because they are so comfortable. I almost went to a manager to complain about workers saying snide things about what the patrons are wearing but gave it (it was Easter-weekend anyways - do unto to others and all)

I have a pair of white I'm taking to WDW and a pair of shocking yellow. They are the best shoes so far and I'll report back when I do 4 days commando-style touring at WDW.

Can you buy crocs in England?
If you search on google a couple of places come up but they're slightly random. Think one was in wales, pembrokeshire? Also, the UK websites that offer free delivery have a really limited selection. Think more are coming in May/June time e.g. www.crocshop.co.uk. I really wanted the special podiatry ones, got stupid feet. The only concern i would have ordering them without seeing them is sizes. It seems a bid dodgy just to guess. Good luck and let me know if you find any :thumbsup2
