Did we get a lazy maid or am I remembering things wrong? (BCV)

So we got three large towels and one set of shampoo, conditioner, lotion and two coffee packets (no tea) at Beach Club Villas for three registered adults and a toddler. I feel like the rooms used to be a little better stocked. Am I remembering wrong?

Last stays were Bay Lake and Poly and I feel like the studios were better stocked.

We find that housekeeping can be hit or miss, mostly miss. I don't think that they know what the policies are or do they understand or care about sticking to the cleaning schedule. For years I have had discussions with the front desk, DVC and housekeeping about when they are supposed to clean and what they are supposed to do on trash and towel day.

The studios should have towels for the number of occupants allowed. So 4 large towels. All we've ever gotten is 2 hand towels but then a bazillion wash cloths. I'd expect only 4 of those though.

Coffee - varies. Should be at least one but we've usually gotten 2. And tea. Each bathroom will only get one shampoo/conditioner/body wash and then bar soap. So one bathroom means one set.

If you don't have the correct number of towels call.

Yup, that's the key word-VARIES. In 14 years of membership, I've seen all kinds of combinations-no plates, tons of lotion, only 2 bath towels, etc., etc. But our stay at BCV this year was a first-mousekeeping came for trash and towel two days in a row. And one year at Kidani, I had nothing replenished and when I called housekeeping, they insisted "Trash and Towel means just that-trash and towel only, nothing else." That's the only time I called MS to clarify. All the other times, it's just a surpirise, what will and won't be there.

Except for the towels, that sounds right. We've only ever gotten one set of toiletries per bathroom per cleaning.

4 figure cost of the vacation and the biggest issue is soap? Never had an issues calling down for a few more items. Still have extra soap and shampoo from my vacations. It is Disney, call and ask for more stuff. They will gladly help out. Also, the carts in the hallway have no guards on them. Restocking is easy when you walk by them on the way back to the room.

Not with DVC. Members pay for everything. So if you are getting them off the carts in the hallway, you are actually stealing from the rest of the members. You can get extra, but it will cost you.

As noted there is some variability. You should get 4 towels normally but the rest is as it should be. As noted, extras are supposed to be charged though they are variable in that area as well. They will also replace them on trash and towel and full cleaning days.

Tea?? Are you suppose to get tea? I'm not a tea drinker so maybe I've never noticed. But agreed, usually get the proper bath towels, smaller towels could be any amount.

I've had most issues with trash and towel days. Usually get the towels and who knows what else. Sometimes no paper plates, other times a stack 4 inches high. Or 47 knives and no forks. Once we didn't get any soaps. I called and they brought a bag with about a dozen bottles.

Now if I may ask a side question, when these items are missing and you call and someone brings them to your room, do you tip? I have, but it always leave me with a "grumble grumble, why should I tip, they should have done the job right" feeling. But of course the person who brings it, probably isn't the person who cleaned the room.

I don't if it's to replace things that should have been there anyway, if it's extra then I do.

I'm a tea drinker and I've never gotten tea bags. That's why one of my first stops is the Twinings store.

Just wondering in the studios that now official sleep five are the stocking rice glasses five mugs, 5 towels and wash cloths.

I just returned from a stay at BWV. No tea was supplied. It's not a problem for us since we bring our own tea bags anyway.

That has not been my experience. Stayed at BCV & Poly recently. Both only had dishes for 4. Poly had 6 sets of towels, BCV only 4.

Just returned from BWV studio. Only 4 glasses and coffee cups supplied. Originally only 4 towels but got 6 when they did towel and trash service. They also left 2 sets of toiletries instead of 1 when they did towel and trash service. No disposable knives or many disposable plates/bowls but lots of forks and spoons.

I feel obligated to tip but do grumble to myself a bit about it.

I didn't think of that. I wonder if DVC has???? Or is this a "by member's request" so the cabinet isn't too crowded, the mug supply will remain at 4?

I am a tea drinker and have gotten tea at check in. But I do drink decaf tea and hat is never there. As for a studio they will replace the paper goods if you call the front desk. I do not believe that they charge for the paper goods in the studios.

I have called for tea bags at BCV at a time we were paying cash for the room. We got the tea bags only because it was a paid stay. That is what I was told. The first question the housekeeping asked when I called was, "is this a cash stay?"
