Going to Universal 1st week of May. Just bought 3 day/2 park tickets 2 days ago (Undercover Tourist). Was planning to upgrade to the Power Passes, as they were essentially the same price.

Just checked the Universal Studios website and it appears the pass prices went up!???? Mousesavers website has Powerpass listed as $228.96 (tax included). On Universal website Power pass is listed as $239.99+15.60 tax=$255.59 ($26.63 increase)

Preferred pass on Mousesavers $314.16. Universal $334.99+21.78 tax=$356.77 ($42.61 increase)

I am assuming this is correct??? :crazy2: My tickets haven't even arrived yet!

yes... I saw a tweet about it on Tuesday. Painful for me b/c I hadn't gotten around to ordering ours yet...

The premier pass also went up 47.93 from $463.26 (tax included) to $511.19. At least so far, the renewal rates haven't increased yet. They are still:

Power pass $134.99 + tax
Preferred $159.99 + tax
Premier $289.99 + tax.

It's been at least a couple of years since they increased those prices. Universal currently gives a big incentive to renew your annual passes every year.

I got my renewal a few weeks ago, still the same.

Darn it. We are going late May and I was stalling before I purchased the Power Pass. Was hoping it wouldn't go up until about mid-May. I guess you snooze you lose. :crazy2: I might as well buy a regular 3 day pass through Undercover Tourist and just upgrade when we get there. Will save me a few bucks.

Well dang. We had purchased 3 day passes from UT before the price increase and were planning on turning them into AP's when we got there in August....now it looks like that will cost us a lot more to do....boo!

The incentive to renew your passes has worked on me since I bought my AP in 2011. I renewed again in Jan. of this year. However, I feel like an increase on the renewal prices has to come eventually, right? I mean, I'm not complaining that it hasn't gone up in a few years. :) It's easily one of the best values in theme park passes as far as I'm concerned.

I'm glad to hear this!

this might be the third year in a row that the ap renewal rates have not increased.
i'm thrilled with that but would not be surprised when they are.......

i've been renewing my ap since 2004.
each year i've still come out ahead on the renewal costs compared to the entrance park costs if i would have had to buy tickets.
