Did you contact Disney and complain/protest/comment on the recent HUGE increase in ticket prices??

I Did!

How About You?? If Not, Why Not?

It Is Your Hard Earned Money!

Call Disney and register your complaint!

Email Disney and register your complaint!

Write and snailmail your complaint!

I have heard that this board gets 30,000 hits per day - By Golly,
can you imagine how we can stop or slow down the next "Admission Media" increase if we all took the 30 seconds to call or send disney a short note!

Thanks!

I dont have a problem with the increase. Calling and complaining will not get one thing accomplished. The only thing that will work is if people stop buying tickets. I know more people going to WDW this summer than at any time I can recall.

Supply = Demand

Out of curiousity ... did you also call SeaWorld and Universal earlier this year to protest their ticket price increases (when they raised their ticket prices in January to a point where they were actually higher than WDW's)? And, did you also call Universal last week to protest that they raised their ticket prices again (for the second time since January)? Do you call WDW every year when they raise their prices, or did you just do it this year?

I suppose that if you never visit SeaWorld or Universal, then you can be angry about WDW ticket prices, since that's the only place you spend your theme park dollars. And, I suppose that if you haven't gone to WDW in a while, that it might seem like an unreasonable price hike since the last time you were there, but most people understand that prices are going to go up annually. They do everywhere. If you're calling the gas companies to protest gas prices, and calling movie theatres to protest $10 movie tickets, that's one thing. But if the only price increases you're protesting are at WDW, that hardly seems fair.

No I did not.....

I've been to WDW over 20 times.
I have never, ever walked out of a park, or flew back home saying, "Boy, that sure was a waste of money. They're really a bunch of robbers."

WDW is an outstanding entertainment value in my view.
Much better than Six Flags, which charges comparable prices, and better than Universal...which also raised prices.

Would I prefer prices stayed the same? Of course.
But this doesn't upset me, given what I all get for my admission.

No, I won't be registering any complaints.

Did you picket the gas station? Those prices have gone up.

Do you talk to the store manager when bread goes up?

Do you complain to the airlines when tickets go up?

Perhaps we should all complain when our bosses decide to give us a pay INCREASE..........

If you don't like it when prices go up.....stop purchasing whatever it is that increased. There. That makes perfect sense, doesn't it?

Am I kicking myself for not buying our tickets before the increase?

Yes.

Am I upset with Disney for raising the prices? Of course not.

I know their insurance costs are rising, since mine are.

I know their energy bills are rising, since mine are.....

I'm sure there are countless other factors involved that I can't even guess.

I was getting ready to post my reply, but WDSearcher said exactly what I wanted to say, and probably better than I would've said it anyway!! ::yes::

Prices go up everywhere, so why should we expect that Disney isn't going to raise their prices. Look at the increase in the price of gasoline lately - that has to make a huge dent in Disney's budget. They aren't going to eat the entire increase - they are going to pass it along to us. That's what businesses do to stay in business and to (we hope) stay profitable. As much as we might like it if ticket prices never went up (or any other prices for that matter), that's just not the way it works

Perhaps you should. The last time that I checked, "profit" was not a 4-letter word and the only responsibility the Walt Disney Co. has is to its shareholders. As others have already stated, much more eloquently -- the parks still give excellent value for the $$$. Yes, I wish I had made my ticket purchase before the price hike -- but the price hike for the particular tickets I will be buying is less than $3/day.

I think Disney is a fantastic value for the money. A family of 4 can easily spend $50 for a movie and popcorn, to spend 2 hours in a theater. Just think of all the possibilities of a Disney ticket. Whenever we go, we look around in amazement and wonder just how much it costs to keep the parks going for a single day. I think the tickets are a bargain.

While I agree with everyone of you that DID NOT complain about the price increase, I am curious about 1 thing.

Did any of you gripe back in 2002 when they took EE away, cut out most e-nights, cut back on park hours, cancelled parades, reduced the number of show performances, let the ground keeping slide a little here and there, reduce number of CM's causing longer lines???????? It seemed to me there were a lot of posts floating around like that.

To me maintaining the same prices while reducing the product is the same as raising prices and maintaining the same product.

Think about that before calling out the OP.

The price of a six day PH with three plus options is now $332 at the gate. That will give you six days at the four main parks plus up to three more days at the water parks which equals nine full days of unbeatable entertainment for what averages out to around $37 a day. I truly don't think you can get a better vacation for your dollar. No complaints here.

I didn't, because this increase actually didn't bother me. The price of gas bothers me, the price of food at the grocery store bothers me, and my utilities forever going up..bother me.

I have always felt that Disney packs A LOT of value into the ticket prices. Heck, we have Cedar Point nearby and their ticket prices are ridiculous for all the more ya get. Sure they may have record-holding coasters..but sheesh.

I have no complaints with the ticket prices, because Disney always sees to it that I get what I paid for and then some. ;)

Nope. I expect prices to go up everywhere on a fairly regular basis... they can't keep prices the same forever! I think its a great value, still, and I don't mind paying at all. =)

Everything costs more every year. We can't expect WDW to keep up the magic, hire and retain quality CMs or add new attractions without raising prices periodically.

My response to the then-rumored price increase was to buy my APs the day before.

The one observation I would have is I would have an issue and would consider changing time allocation between parks as follows:

1) Disney increases prices more than the Consumer Price Index which I think they have been

2) Universal offers on line deals such as the $99 two park pass for 5 consecutive days deal - that is a good deal in my opinion

thanks

I don't have a problem with the price increase. I think Disney prices are on par with that of other parks.

I saw this deal and was wondering about it. I've never been to Universal, but everything I've read about it makes it sound as if 2 days is enough to see/do pretty much everything. If that is the case then a 5 day ticket is pointless. Can you really spend 5 days at Universal? If so, that would be a tremendous value! TIA

"HUGE" increase?? Unless I missed something, I don't think it was that big of an increase..

And no - I'm not complaining..
