Did the Ent. Rate go up at HOJO's?

Today I called to book a room under the Ent. Rate for two nights(2/20 and 2/21) that qualified for that price reduction. Saturday was around $95 and Sunday was $82. When I asked if prices went up, she said they did. Does anyone out there have that same experience?

Hmm...DBF and I stayed there over Christmas weekend and was still able to get the Entertainment Rate for $59/night. Maybe they are increasing the rates as of 2010? Did you talk to in-house reservations? If not, you will definitely want to call and ask to talk to them instead as the reps at the regular reservations hotline are not very helpful when it comes to the Ent. Rate. Good luck and let us know if your rate changes!

That does not sound right to me. The price for both nights should be the same whatever the price unless one night is with a view and the next night isnt. I would call in-house reservations again and ask to speak with Lorielle (I think that is her name) she posts on here regularly.

I am not seeing 2/20 and 2/21 listed on the current entertainment availability dates.
It may have been that those dates at one time were elligable for the ET rate, but as the hotels fills, the discount will no longer be available for those who have not already claimed it (did that make sence??)
Check out this link for the current dates of the entertainment availability

My guess is that you did not, in fact, speak with in-house reservations. Lorealle has posted the correct ent. rates and dates available on the hojo boards here:

I would call back after the holidays during normal business hours in order to ensure you are speaking with someone in the in-house reservations department to secure the ent. rate for your dates of stay.

Good luck!

I agree.

Hi! We are planning on going to DL for the first time during February break. My girls will be 5 & 6 and are asking to stay in a hotel with bunk beds. I know HOJO has them but they can only give us that room for 1 night. I am thinking it might be a pain to move to another room not to mention the fighting of who gets to sleep on top. Any feedback would be great!:thumbsup2

I tried to get some information on the Ent Rate a few weeks back from Lorealle, and honestly it just felt like she was blowing me off...instead of being helpful like I had herad mentioned SO MANY times before on this board...she just directed me to the 800 number for main reservations...I was disappointed and frustrated so I just booked somewhere else. I'll give her a try the next time I need to book and hope for better luck! Im sure it may have been just a "off day" for her?!?! :goodvibes

Wow, that totally does not sound like Lorealle at all. I would say it must have been an impersonater!

The ER has changed in the past, but not by too much. I called for January dates and they had not changed for that. I think the OP must have either not understood, or they got the general reservation line. I know that when I have asked for the Entertainment Rate in the past, they always check for all discounts and then just tell me what they can do. Perhaps they gave her the disboard price because entertainment rate wasn't available?

Me too. And I would add to make sure you're calling during Pacific time business hours, and don't call during their lunchtime.

There is simply NO way to get the appropriate Ent Rate from the 800 reservation people, so I would say that the person on the phone wasn't Lorealle.

If you called the Anaheim number during their lunchtime, during a really really really busy time, or just flat out not pacific time business hours, their phone system will transfer you to the 800 number people, and from my experience, they are not adverse to lying. I had to ask a VERY specific question to get the lady on the phone with me to admit that she was NOT, in fact, in house reservations.

I didnt call....I emailed her directly...it was her, no worries, we all have off days!

But even if she was not feeling her best or having an "off" day, I don't see any reason why she would refer you to the 1-800 number and not to the in-house number at their hotel. Like Molly mentioned above, there is no way to get the ent. rate through that number, so I don't understand why you would be sent in that direction.:confused3

I was checking dates of availability at Hojo for dates in Nov. 2010. I had not removed the promo code for the entertainment book and when the dates of 11/16/-11/22 came up they showed the entertainment rate. I did search with other dates and same happened. I am not sure if this is a mistake or if they are posting that far out. The kids suite showed up as 99.00 per night. I hope I am not sharing information that should not be available this time of year. If I am I am sorry. If not then this sure would be the time to reserve for fall trips. It was only wishful thinking on my part to try and plan a trip to DL in the fall. ( Waiting for kidney transplant, my time should be coming up soon so traveling is out of question for now.)

It is so unusual to get entertainment rates this time of year for the fall months. I had my daughter look, she got same rates.

Oh, I actually have an 1-800 number that goes straight to inhouse reservations. Maybe Lorealle gave her that number? I have it on my phone, and don' t remember where I got it. Maybe from the emailed confirmations that I always ask for. Anyhow, it goes straight to the inhouse reservation folks. The other 714 number is answered by the front desk and then they transfer you to in house reservations.

I will find it and post it later.

I dont understand either, thats what im saying. I didnt get why when I emailed her and asked for the rate she directed me to the main reservation number. I know its not normal for her to do that, thats why I just went ahead and booked somewhere else and just figured she was having an "off day" like I said earlier. I looked for that email to show you all but I cant find it, I hope I didnt accidentaly erase it. Will look more later. But yeah, it was wierd!!

I tried booking our upcoming December dates online using the Ent Rate code & after I had entered all of my info & submitted it, it came up as "rate plan not available". Last year sometime, here on the DISBoards we discussed that happening while trying to book the Ent Rate online & came to the conclusion that it has to be booked through in-house reservations in order to get the Ent Rate. I have not yet called Lorealle or Jennifer to check on this but if anyone else does, would you mind reporting back as to what they had to say? Or if you have any luck booking the Ent Rate online for any of the months not yet listed on the HoJo discussion boards, that would be swell too! Thanks! :thumbsup2

Hmm, interesting....I put in the dates I'd like for this coming December using the Entertainment code and it came up with all my days at that rate (which to the op are the same rate they've been). I haven't gone as far as putting a credit card, so I don't know if I'd eventually get an error message, but if not they would have to actually honor those prices, right?

Edited to add that in the past (once the dates show up on their website as available) I've had no problem getting the entertainment rate online, so I don't think you have to call in-house if you didn't want.
