We just got back last week, and as I was reviewing our receipts I could not help noticing how more the food cost was. Did they increase cash cost to cover free dining? we go every year, so I have a fairly good idea how much i should spend for passes, food, snacks, etc. Our food costs was over 25% above last year, even eating at the same places and the same foods. For example, for 6 people, no alcohol, with gratuity, lunch at the Brown Derby was $290.00, and dinner at Olivia's was $307.00. I don't mind paying good money for good food, but it seems that it has become a little extravagent to dine all the time at Disney eateries. Am I the only one to notice this increase, and is there a logical explanation for it?

We also noticed an increase in Feb. but we figured it was based on the increase in the cost of wheat which has hit us pretty hard in the prices of breads and pastas.

I wonder if prices will drop again if they have a bumper crop this year :rolleyes1 Doubt it.

We just got back from 2 weeks at Disney. We spent $958 on food which worked out to an average of just under $20/person/day. That is exactly the same as what we've spent on several of our previous trips, going back a few years. I think we ate similarly to how we've eaten in the past so I really don't see much difference overall in food prices.
