Did the "cash for refrigerators/appliances" stimulus go thru?

Ok, took a lot of searching on that one!

But, it looks like it has passed as part of the recovery act. It was up to each state to submit their requests for funding and then the rebates were split up. From what I gather (as the link off the dept of energy site doesn't work!!) it has not yet begun in most places, though some areas are already offering it.

Sears has a website that you can have "alert" you when it's available in your area.

Also, wanted to note, be careful with any information from another state. It looks like each state has their own program, proposal, qualifications, etc., for this.

It was on the news last night. Each state will be different for what amounts you can get for different types of items. Sears will be having big computers installed so people can order or buy products online - at the stores, after they see and find out what amounts they can get. This is supposed to be starting soon.

Thanks for the help. I better start my search for what dishwasher model I want. :thumbsup2

Yay!! Ohio has applied for 12million and I'm buying a new frig and dishwasher for my new house!!! We qualified by one day for the expanded home buyers tax credit too!!
Good news all over. Thanks for the heads up!!! :)

I bought a new refrigerator in June. My almost 30 year old one finally died! I was shocked how much my electric bill went down, about 25%.

We missed out on the cash for clunkers this spring because we bought a vehicle about 1.5 months too early.

Hoping to get in on the appliance program.

We did take advantange of the new window program by replacing the one large window we hadn't done yet.

Just ordered 3 new energy star ceiling fans to replace old rattling ones, but I don't think that qualifies for anything. lol

Feel like I'm on a spending spree lately, but nothing fun to show for it. A trip somewhere would have been nice, but doing the responsible thing was a better idea.

Oh man, too bad it's so close to Christmas! We want a new stove and could use a new fridge too, but that's not happening at this time of the year. We'd have to wait til January.

You might want to rethink that. On the news, they said on some appliances, you may be able to get up to $250. With that kind of savings, I'd be handing out fruit baskets to everyone - and a clean pair of socks to show them where the money went. ;)
