3. Same type of Occupation - Kind of , my dad was in the Navy for 4 years and so was I

4. Living in the same area - YES

5. Same Political belief - NO, but later in life we were all of same page, but not not until my 30,s

TV shows: I find myself watching more and more of the things they watched. MASH, I Love Lucy, Bewitched

Religion: yep. Until the last few years I still went to the same church.

Occupation: not anymore but my Mom and I were in business together for about 10 years. But I defintily see my parents in my work ethic and loyalty to my employer.

Area: I live on the same piece of land I was raised on. Originally 20 acres that has been split between different parts of the family.

Political views: well, they didn’t have the same view lol. I probably get mine more from my Dad.

1. Same type of TV programs and Movies - No - Dad liked westerns and mom likes romance or oddball movies (ie Mr. Bean or Sharknado type movies). I like some from those genres but they wouldn't be my top movie/tv picks.

2. Sames Religion or Non Religion - same overall, different denomination

3. Same type of Occupation - yes - they were both teachers and though I tried to avoid it by becoming an x-ray tech, I eventually became a teacher. Even married one!

4. Living in the same area - yes

5. Same Political belief - I don't know their registered party, but I know they are more conservative than I am. WAY more. I think part of that is their age/era, too. I never talked politics with my dad and when my mom and I try we end up in an argument.

I do find myself saying something at times and immediately thinking, "I sound just like my mom/dad". Scary how often that happens.

2. Sames Religion or Non Religion - All of us are/were devout Christians but I now go to a different style of church.

4. Living in the same area - Heck no again - I couldn't get off the farm fast enough.

5. Same Political belief - Kind of, I guess. Same party affiliation for vastly different reasons.

1. Same type of TV programs and Movies - My mom liked baseball and History channel shows, so yes there. My dad passed 51 years ago and I don't recall what shows he watched

3. Same type of Occupation - No. My dad was a lumber salesman, my mom a Registered Nurse. I've worked in Broadcasting for 43 years, 41 of it in TV

4. Living in the same area - My dad was born in China, my mom was born in Canada. I have never lived more than 6 miles from where I am right now, which is where I was born. My dad moved here about 12 years before I was born. My moved here 9 years before I was born

1) We only had 3 tv channels, and totally different tastes
2) Yes
3) Totally different occupations
4) Yes, for the exception of a 10 yr period of greater distance from each other
5) My parents did not talk politics, and not even give each other insight into whom they'd vote for

2. Same Religion or Non Religion - If you call being Protestant (but not the same denomination) similar, then yes. Otherwise, no.

4. Living in the same area - Same state, but hundreds of miles away.
5. Same Political belief - This one is hard to answer. They were devoted members of a certain party and for years, I voted that way too. But when I was a child, this party was much different than it is today. I don't think I left the party so much as the party left me. Were they still alive, I'm not sure THEY would vote the same as they did in years past.
The really strange thing is, even though our DD was adopted, she is astonishingly similar to my late MIL. And I thought my MIL was one of a kind. But my daughter does and says so many things that make DH and I look at each other and say she's just like MIL. We saw MIL about one day a month until she died over 10 years ago. DD was still in elementary school, so it's not as if she learned this behavior from being around MIL. She gets her sarcasm and skepticism from me though.

I totally get that. I'd proudly say the same but then we're probably thinking more about the intangible parts of their personalities and character that can't be described as easily as the questions in this thread.

First of all, my father is dead and my mom raised me, so I can only answer about her.
