Did Soledad Obrien leave NBC??

Just caught an ad for a new program on CNN with Soledad on it. I was surprised but I have not seen the weekend edition of Today in several weeks. Did she leave because of David dying or any other reason?

Yes, Soledad has taken a job at CNN. I don't know for certain, but my guess is that she made the move for her career. I don't think it had anything to do with the death of David Bloom.

Her contract at NBC was up for renewal, and CNN made her an offer she couldn't refuse. The deal was in the works well before David Bloom died. Losing both of them in such a short period of time leaves a huge void on the weekends!

Thanks!! I will miss her. I very seldom watch CNN anymore and I usually watch all my news on NBC. Weekends will not be the same with both of them gone now.

Does anyone remember the high tech show that Soledad hosted a few years back? I did a quick check and found out the program was called "The Site" and aired in 1996.

I like Solidad on the weekend version of the Today show but the CNN job is a great one.

Yes, John, always enjoyed The Site. Good show. And Soledad is a great hostess and anchor.

I never caught that The Site show but I remember her in a show prior to that. I can't remember the name of it. The show was hosted by a guy, sorta weird, and it was a show about new ideas and inventions. It was on late. Soladad was like a field correspondent who would occasionally appear on the show. I always remembered her name and was somewhat pleased to see she made it further in her field when I read about her joining CNN. I never watched the Today show so I didn't know she was on it.
