Did Sassagoula Floatworks at POFQ change the beignets?

We stayed at POFQ in 2010/2011 and I was addicted to the beignets. I got them every morning, but haven't gotten them since that trip.

We are staying at Riverside now and I walked over to POFQ to grab dinner and some beignets and was sorely disappointed. They were incredibly dense. It was more like eating a flavorless cake.

Was this a one-time mistake, or are they now consistently dense and cakey?

While I was told they were the same I agree they are not the same and we have been eating them for over 10 years.

We have always found them dense and cakey. Not a fan, now or then

I had them in Jan 2012 and Dec 2016, and they seemed the same to me. But eat the gluten free ones.

Well that's disappointing.

On the plus side, we had to stay at POR instead of POFQ this trip due to late planning, and we love POR! Our favorite moderate now.

We ate them last month. Delicious!

We've been eating them once or twice a year for the past five years and they taste the same to me - not dense or cakey.
