"Did Pluto Just Give You A Lap Dance?" 10 days of Naughty & Nice!

Hopefully they will get that child anger management help and I am glad Baylor is okay for the most part.

Thanks and I will pass on your well wishes. He is off at school and I am hoping for an uneventful day! :worship:

For those keeping track...a friend here reminded me that this would now be two legal suits involving either directly or indirectly 2 kids from Baylor's grade we now have to deal with. :sad2::headache:

The accident when Baylor got burned was a fluke - but the amount of violence at schools and fighting is on the rise. Everywhere. I mean in the 50's and forever ago - there were fights over girls...but in 8th grade?! With a kid that has already been through drug rehab! That is a sign of the times.

***Disclaimer***
Baylor will not be happy if I list it as a fight - he has said, "It was not 2 ways and I did not know it was coming...that is why it was not a fight. It was sucker punches." :)

Here he would have been suspended as well had he "fought" back or tried to defend himself. My oldest got beat up by a girl when he was in 8th grade but since he attempted to punch her to get her off him (she was choking him) he was also suspended. It was the day before school got out. They were sending him home on the school bus but her mom had to pick her up. When he called me I told him to stay there I was on my way. He had a knot next to his eye and the pitchial hemmorage signs in his eyes from being choked. We went to the police station and the ER where he was found to be okay with the exception of the broken hand. The girl had him outweighed by at least 50 pounds and has had incidences since at the high school with assaults on other boys. Seems like it is time someone got her some help but doesn't seem that parents care since she has been suspended so many times.

It is sad that there is so much violence in schools now and it starts younger and younger. My 11 year old came home distraught one day when she was in 4th grade as another student told her he was going to break the teacher's neck. My daughter loved her teacher and tried to tell the student teacher who told her to just go sit down. I called the school and the child was suspended and the parents were forced to get him help.

For any new joiner's - I am adding a links column on the bottom of the first page so it makes it easier to navigate and read for those who just want the entree!

**I like the whole meal though!;)

Hi there! I'm caught up as far as you have links!

The way you wrote about Dan made me tear up...very sweet.

Your kids are gorgeous and you don't look anywhere near old enough to have an 18 year old son!

Can't wait to read more!

That poor baby raccoon -- after all of your efforts, the darn thing better have survived! I'm just amazed at the stupidity and incompetence you encountered when you were trying to help the poor little creature. UGH!

Love the pictures of OKW -- we aren't DVC owners but I'm trying to convince DH and have thought about renting points as a "trial run" to see what he thinks...

Can't wait to hear about MVMCP! I think I finally convinced DH that we should do that next year (I was trying to for this year but that didn't go over so well since we're already renting a cabin in the mountains with my family for Christmas this year).

You should next year! Not to miss! Treyner is joining us this year and at 19 in college - that says a lot!

Thanks, Dawn, now I"m afraid to do laundry. ;)

Patiently waiting on MVMCP. We're going this year! :yay:

I will kick that out tom!

As far as the bat - I have to tell you my Grandmother was a staunch Catholic. Beyond the norm of most and I never heard her swear or bust a gut or most things considered not proper back in the day. She rarely showed any expression.

But at the moment she found it - an olympic track athlete couldn't have caught her. I have never seen a 78 year old run so fast up a flight of stairs from the basement in a house coat with knee high stockings, screaming for her rosaries in all my life!

She did not find humor in my chuckling. :lmao:

Signing on but I have to go back and read so I can't really comment yet....well, except to comment that I'm signing on.....:rolleyes1

Followed you over from my report:goodvibes

Hi guys!
Sorry the latest addition has yet to break. I decided to transfer careers last week. More on that later and the kid who hit Baylor - was back in his class last Friday. To say I am not happy is an understatement.

Again - because of how much school Baylor missed last year due to his burn, he is a special class that has 6 boys in it and they are together all day.

So for over 6 hours on Friday, Baylor was ridiculed and teased about pressing assault charges. He called Baylor a "F-in" Jew and a "F-in" pu$$y and gave Baylor the Hile Hitler salute multiple times. I want the school hind end at this point. I told Baylor not to kick this kids @ss becase the school wanted us to handle it through the police department and I agreed. Then this is what the school does?

I was told the kid would not be put back in Baylor's class. Assured that if we followed the schools recomendation to press charges, that he would not be an issue for Baylor again.

So let's see. Let's put him back in the class, where Baylor talking to his girlfriend caused him to be angry enough to assault Baylor and then see what happend when charges are now added to the fire.

I will post later when I can. Waiting for someone to call back. I will not send Baylor back to school until this is resolved, an appology is made, plus. There was no call on either my cell or at home to say that this kid was going to be back. No one told Baylor any different and so they have some serious backpeddling to do I am sure.

Head principal is gone for the week. Police officer liason for the school who interviewed Baylor is also gone for the week.

8th grade principal wanted to do some research according to her secretary and then get back to me and Baylor's counselor also was in a mtg this morning and could not talk to me. He was the one who had told me that this kid would not be back in Baylor's class.

I have also left a messgae for the superintendent. I am thinking of more serious actions than that. I am FURIOUS!!!

So not in good mood to write lighthearted Disney memories right now.

Sorry.

WOW -- that's just infuriating. :sad2: Good luck getting that all resolved...as far as I'm concerned, that kid shouldn't even be in the school at all, whether he's in a different class or not.

We had a situation several years ago with a student in one of my DH's classes (he teaches high school) -- the kid threatened to kill DH so he was "expelled" from school...until the new semester started a few weeks later and they let the kid back in the school and put him back in my DH's class. Yeah, that was great.

UGH. Keep us posted on how this all turns out -- heads should roll!!!

This is soooo horrible!!!! Poor Baylor! This is scary stuff! I don't blame you a bit for not sending Baylor back to school until this is resolved. It sounds like this kid has more issues than the school can even handle. I hope everything works out! I know how frustrating it can be dealing with school administrators - nobody wants to take action it seems like. :headache:

Sorry I didn't get you called last week -not sure where the week went! And it sounds like you have had a heck of a lot more to think about than our get together.

I will talk to you soon! I hope things get resolved for Baylor soon.

Much Love,

Jo

Sorry.

If you don't get a call bck soon I would so be going up there. That is such a crock that they are allowing that to happen to Baylor. Nothing like victimizing the victim somemore. Do you have a homebound teacher program at your school?? I would be making them do that until they fix this because Baylor does not need the added stress and you know I would also look into having the charges placed in hate crime category which adds a higher punishment. When he started making the racial (not excatly the word I want to use but not sure of the correct term this morning) he made it a hate crime and harrasment. Talk to the prosecutor for your area as well.

:grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug::grouphug:

Thanks everyone for the support. I did talk with his counselor this morning. He appologized for "my missunderstanding." It seems they had a mtg on Friday to come up with a game plan for re-entry that included the boy nderstanding no violence or hate would be tollerated. The boy understood, acknowledged what went wrong and thus joined class on Friday.

I said, "Well he must not have understood a lot because here is what happened on that Friday."

Baylor was then given the phone and explained the day. Said 2 teachers new about it and told "Sam" to stop. Explained the rest. Conselor will do some investigating, talk to teachers. "Sam" was not in school today so Baylor went back. He doesn't want to miss his football game tom and if he is out for the day that can happen.

I explained that the level of my anger was beyond elevated and if I do not have an answer on what they will do to stop this - news channels will be called tom. I also left a message with the other police liason for the high school since the middle school one is gone for a week.

The irony is that we are not Jewish by religion. My mom's father was Jewish, we learned of this in the past few years as he left his faith and family to marry my grandmother (the staunch Catholic I described earlier.) So my kids and I have been processing the fact we have a whole side of our family we do not even know, a linneage to a people that before - was just a sad story and now - you realize how a 10 year difference in a move of my great-grandfather could mean you would not be here. (There was over 18 aunts, uncles and first cousins of my mom's that died in the Holocaust.)

So the bigotry and cries of Jew anything - regardless of my faith - strikes me at my core. Baylor had done a research project on our family tree and presented it to a social studies class a few years ago. That is the only reason how "Sam," knew that Baylor has any Jewish heritage.

I do not believe in violence but at some level there comes a time when you have to defend yourself. If the school will not do their job, I am not sure how many more times Baylor will walk away and I will not blame him.

I will keep you all updated. Mtg for new career tonight and I will post more tom!

Hopefully they will get it taken care of. I hate how people act especially kids when they find out something about another student they like to hold onto it.

I can certainly understand only taking so much. I think you have a very bright child there that does not want to risk losing a sport he likes. I wish my son had the same control at this age that your son has. My son now has the control but at 12/13 he did not have it.

This is sooo NOT cool. I'm with Leajess99. You cannot threaten a victim and I would consider this a hate crime now. Talk to the courts. This could be a huge boo boo on the kid's part.
I'm not saying this to get flamed but do not expect the school to solve this. We found out quickly with my son's medical problems that they are not experts when it comes to solving anything. We hired a attorney that specializes in student disabilities. His recommendation was to take my son out of public school and put him in a charter school. He didn't have a lot of faith in the school system. My son missed the friends he's had since kindergarten so we worked on getting him back to the same school. The schools do they best they can but they are trying to educate a 1000 children. To quote a famous trip report here on the dis "it's like herding cats" I think they just try to get through the day with minimum damage.

What is the school policy? Is "sam" supposed to be suspended or expelled? How about getting a restraining order on "Sam"? Then what will the school do? They will have to find a place for this kid but NOT in Baylor's class. "Sam" sounds like a typical bully. He will continue to push unless you push back. Don't give up. I will be thinking of you and your family. Post an update when you have time.

btw I know nothing about the law. This was just an angry mother's rant! I'm betting that everyone that has read Baylor's story and seen the beautiful pictures of your family wants to protect him too!

:grouphug:

OMG poor Baylor! Some kids just have all the luck, right? :sad2: It's funny because when I was school I got bullied for all sorts of reasons and I actually blew up at a kid one day (keep in mind I was freshman in high school by this point and had been dealing with this kind of garbage since elementary school). I never hit him but I stood up in the middle of class and yelled at him (interrupted the teacher and everything) "IF YOU THROW ONE MORE F-ING THING AT ME I SWEAR TO GOD THAT I WILL PULL OUT EVERY SINGLE SOLITARY STRAND OF HAIR ON YOUR SKULL!" He was my best friend after that and apparently news travels fast because I was never called a name again after that. AND here I am almost 10 years out of high school and the same people who used to torture me are asking to be my friend on Facebook. Why? I don't know. But tell Baylor to hang in there.... one day they will all be kissing his booty! :goodvibes I know that schools definitely do NOT tolerate that "neo-nazi" garbage.... there was a kid that went to my high school that was expelled for having a swastika tattoo (yes, a real one). He never really showed it to anyone but as soon as people found out about it, he went bye-bye. Take it where you need to. This kid has some deeply rooted issues that need to be addressed before he gets worse. Good luck!

Hopefully they will get it taken care of. I hate how people act especially kids when they find out something about another student they like to hold onto it.
That is strange isn't it. I never would have though that his having Jewish realatives would be the thing someone would be cruel about!

You crack me up...it was like reading a disscliamer on an infomercial!!

This is beautiful! Kick some @ss Sea Bass! :woohoo:
