"Did Pluto Just Give You A Lap Dance?" 10 days of Naughty & Nice!

I'm on page 21 of your PTR and I now have my sister (another Disney freak... it runs in our family:love: ) reading it also... We work together but a few hundred feet away in the same building so we instant message each other about what part we are on. Too funny! :rotfl: With my job there is always something to do, so spending my day on the DIS boards is not good! :rolleyes1
Although, with the million things I have to do this evening it is certainly helping the day pass with less stress. :yay:
Glad you enjoyed the chuckles...and I was a distraction to your day...does anyone lese think it i stotal garbage that we have many in our country who have to work on Christmas eve? What happened to the days of having both off...no stores open and being organized enough to be prepared? Do not get me wrong...I shopped at Walmart yesterday...but I felt guilty...because I could have gotten things earlier...and I miss thedays of really hibernating with family for the holidays...just my two cents...:lovestruc
Your Christmas post was very lovely. Can you believe this year went by so fast? :confused3
No...I can't...and I remember thinking I would never be able to drive...never be old enough to be married...etc...now I wonder how these wrinkles hit my face and who threw them? ;)
"I have always thought of Christmas time, when it has come round, as a good time; a kind, forgiving, charitable time; the only time I know, in the long calendar of the year, when men and women seem by one consent to open their shut-up hearts freely, and to think of people beloew them as if they really were fellow passengers to the grave, and not another race of creatures bound on other journeys." - Charles Dickens
Beautiful honey....:santa:
Merry Christmas!
:goodvibes

OMG, I think my blood pressure just went up reading that last post lol. You're writing is great, it really gave me a good laugh. I just read your PTR and that story about the Crusher and Gusher is so funny. The first time me and my sister went on the CMs tell you to lift your butt up and I thought that meant ya know just for when you first push off to start the ride, but definitely not. The little roller things like hit you constantly in the butt, the ride was like Ow Ow Ow, (you go downhill) wee!, (back uphill) Ow Ow OW. Then when we went on again, we kept our tushies up and when we came down the shoot when you go into the pool part I went like flying off the tube into the water. Keep up the funny stories and have a Merry Christmas!
Thank you for that re-cap...very accurate...did you get bruises as well? Are you and TeaforTulips sisters? Just curious! PLease stay for the journey!

Merry Christmas Dawn!
I will be sending you my optometrists bill...:lmao:
OMG Dawn - How did you stay so calm with all that going on? Kids not packed, tupperware sale, a DH who runs out of gas two hours before you are due to leave for the airport. What a humorous tale. It was making me nervous!

Who did you assume was calm? :confused3 Cause I wasn't...I was simply quietly freaking out..via a few holiday cookies and some milk...:drinking1 Thank goodness I do not drink...cause I would have ben one of those passengers who get into a fist to cuffs with a stewardess all intoxicated and such over holding the plane and not closing the doors...

I kept thinking that they will drive fast...:car: and then they will get a caught...::cop:...and they will try and evade the popo...:drive: ...and then they will be on the 6p.m. news...:mic: and I will not be going to Disney with my family...but rather buying cigarettes :smokin: for them in jail because that is what a good mamma would do for her new fugitives of the law...not be selfish and go without 2 founding memebers of her travel troup...

Honestly...I think after all that has happened in my life with Baylor and such...I usually handle new crises better than I used to...most of the time...

BTW...Dan is not my DH yet...:sad1:  but plan to be soon...hopefully by next year if all goes well...:yay:

When we do get married...do you want an invite? It would be awesome to have a big ole Dis boards wedding....hmmmm...where to have it at ...where to have it at? ;)

It isn't a neked pic or anything....jeeesh...I do have some class...:lmao:

Sorry the pic is dark...but it wasn't taken in my yard...:worship:

It is a polor bear and santa after a wee bit o spiked egg nog...:santa:

The website does not have dirty pics...just what they determine is Holiday Decorations gone awry...most homes are just decorated a bit weird for most peoples tastes...Treyner thinks the more gawdy the better in many gases..some people are just a tad eccentric...

Off to shop!:scared:

Oh yeah - I see Santa's belt now. That is pretty funny. Wonder what the neighbors thought???????

Love the TR so far :thumbsup2

I do have to agree, people should not have to work christmas eve. Of course I could just be saying that because I had to work ;) But seriously, who in their right mind makes a doctor appt for christmas eve? People are supposed to stay home with their families not going to see their orthopaedic doctor :sad2:

Nanette

wow...I take a few days off from the boards and you're up to page 5 already!
can't wait to hear what happens after you actually get there....you did get there, right?:lmao:

Day 1 Continued - "Disney Wasn't This Far Last Time!"

Ahhhh...where did I leave off..oh yes...scrambling to be ready to walk out the door within 20 minutes...

Dan was mostly packed..he fine tuned a few things...Baylor and Carsyn were ready and Treyner was throwing last minute things together...

Previously in the week while packing..we found a few flaws in Baylor's clothes...
Baylor had grown over 3" over the summer so we had gone and bought him shorts at the end of the summer sales marathons ...so he would have stuff to wear for December. See...I am smart...I plan for those things...:snooty:

What I did not plan for was him getting burned and losing 15 pounds in a month! So all of his mens shorts size 30 or 32 did not fit...he could have worn them with another person they were so big...he tried as usual to make it into no biggie...so he said as we were trying on clothes...I will just belt them tight...but no joke...they were folded 3 inches on either side trying to cinch them...not going to work...He is 5'3 and was 115...so he was slim when they fit for length...now he looked like a little old man in plaid shorts with no butt...

So out to the garage I went in his too small box I had just packed...to get his old shorts out..and we found 2 that worked...:worship:

The other main issue was how much space all his bandages took and dressings and medication and lotion...I was a wreck making sure I did not forget any of it...plus...

If you remember he was at the doctor with a banged up leg that afternoon...and skidded in sideways to be dropped off at 3:30...thank goodness they said it all looked normal...cause I would have no clue what we would have done if they did not give him the okay to go...but they said it was all good...he just needed more bandages for additional types of swelling etc..

I looked like I was packing for a mission trip to Uganda with the Red Cross.

But we were ready...and then...

Jodi was here...

Jodi is my best friend who is a Godsend in more ways than one...who was able to help with a ride at the last minute...because snow was not falling for 4 hours... cause ya see...she runs a plow biz...and it has snowed a lot here this year...

If not her...we would have called a taxi...but alas...she came...snow plow attached and all... (Insert angelic rings here please)

We squished a bit into her vehicle...a 4 door truck...Dan and Treyner in the front...me and Carsyn and Baylor in the back. Time of departure was 5:20 p.m...not bad for a 5:00 p.m. agenda originally...although we looked like a clown car...

No traffic on the way to the airport which Dan feared...I said don't worry...they are all on the side of the road ...there was a gas shortage dontcha know...(:rolleyes1 closest to a SA smiley as I could find)

We got to MSP by 5:45....unloaded the suitcass form the rear of the vehicle...hugged and said our goodbyes...and flew into the airport...

No lines at all...we had the easiest check in ever...and then...when walking through security...I was given the once over...those darn body piercings! (:lmao: yeah right....like who on the face of the sun would want to look at me neked to pierce something...my luck they would be so horrified they would close their eyes and instead of my piddiple being pierced it would be my clavicle...:rotfl2: )

After allowing me to put my clothes on and swearing I did not have any bombs placed in innapropriate orphaces...we headed to the gait...to sit and wait...because the time was only 6:10..and our plane did not leave till 7:40...so yeah...Daaaaannnnnn...what with the rush and the Home Alone moments in the airport????

It was nice we had some time...kids split 2 McDonalds meals for $245.87...
Atlanta%2BAirport%2Bterminal%2BE%2B2.jpg

BTW: Did you know that in March of 1986...our Minneapolis airport was just the second in the country to get a McDonalds? If you ever need that info for Jeopardy...mail me my portion!

Welcome to MSPA McDonald's

Why fly hungry?

We relaxed a bit...then we were asked to board...and we who hate being the 1st ones on to sit in a sweat box...waited...and waited...and then...when we walked on...realized we were going to have to walk to Alaska to get to our seats...

Seriously...only 3 seats per row...per side...but we were in row 1067...I had a birthday while we walked...it was cool...got a set of wings for the trouble...

There was some empty seats by us in Anchorage....after we took off...the kids split up and Treyner slept by himself accross the row...

I was too excited to sleep...I do have pics of the kids...but it was on my cell phone...because at that point...I realized I forgot the battery charger with the batteries in it and Treyner had forgotten to pack his belt...

Why you ask did these two things coincide...?

Because while walking to check in for luggage...Treyner was walking with his legs three feet apart...trying to keep his pants from falling to his ankles...

He looked like he had been riding on a bull for 10 hours...without the spurs...

bab0057l.jpg

I wanted a picture...and he wanted a belt...both of which were sitting back home...:sad2:

We arrived in Orlando with little problem...the 2 suitcases that were checked came out fast...and then we went to Avis to get our car...

Now Dan had called to let them know a month before...about Baylor's injury...and had asked for an upgrade to a mini van or something with a 3rd row to stretch his leg...they assured him it would be no problem...

On arrival to Avis...it was a problem...there was no room in the inn for any more bigger vehicles...so have your 1 row Trailblazer and like it...

02trailblazer_lt1.jpg

Just like ours but ours was not as shiny and white...and had scratches...
We were all just tired...it was now after 11p.m...and said we will make do...and the three squished into the back...and off we went...

Them thinking we were going to Disney World...Dan and I knowing we were heading to Vero Beach!

After a bit of being turned around...we found the right highway...and after an hour on the road..sleepily...Baylor said...

"Disney wasn't this far last time!"

To be finished tomm...Day 1...finally!

Totally subbing to this! You are a riot!

I also wanted to say that I am sooo glad to hear your son is doing much better.A very close friend of ours had somethign very similar happen to her son in August. Short story version...Her two sons were staying at their friends house(with supposed supervision) The child whose house they were at thought it would be fun to light cologne on fire with a candle. It exploded all over my friend's eldest son. Third degree burns on his face neck and chest. The adult in the house(I use this term loosely)told DFS that it was no worse than a sunburn and to get to bed:scared1: Thankfully,DFS knew enough to grab his younger brother and get outta there. He went to a neighbors house, rushed to the ER and was transportted to Hopkins. He is in much better shape now...and the adult is in some pretty serious troule. It was the scariest thing my DF has ever had to live through, so I completely understand how you must have felt(and I am sure you are still feeling it every day)

Thank you for sharing your friends story...because ours is more similar than you know...did he end up getting skin grafts? The face I know is so hard to graph...I hope he did not have any tissue damage...

I know this is not the compassion forumn..had a site there when all this was going on...but I do want you to make sure your friends son knows about the burn camps offered...not sure how old he is...but it is often covered byfund raisers that burn centers do...please pm me her info or I will give you mine..,no kid deserves to go through this without the ability to connect with others who have experienced similar things...the one Baylor will be going to is in Colorado in August...

Thanks for laughing with me...hopefully not at me...:cool2:

I love the fact that they have NO idea about the beack trip!!! Especially after all he's been through that is awesome for him!

loving the tr!!!!

and just want to give you all lotsa  !! I can't imagine going through stuff like that with DD, she gets a fever and I freak.

They did want to skin graft a portion of his chest, however, he was healing pretty fast(that's one pro to this happening at such a young age)that they decided not to in the end. The before and after pictures are pretty amazing, I have to admit. I was in tears seeing the pix,but the after(even just a few months out)look so good. DFS is still adjusting to the discoloration and does have that same fear your DS has about the reactions of others(DFS is same age actually) but has apparently done very well all things considered.

If you could PM me your information, I will pass it on to my friend. She is not a member of the Dis, but I am sure she would love any info you might have. I don't know if she is aware of the summer camps, but I think that would be an excellent experience for both your son and hers. They do need to know that they are not alone to deal with this and the aftermath.

The kids did not know anything about he trip besides it involved Disney and part of the stay was at OKW in a 2 bedroom. Treyner knew the least...he wanted it all to be a surprise if at all possible.

In fact at the airport when we had do much time before boarding...I told them my original plan of suprising them with a trip...elling them the day we left...they all exclaimed it would not be cool...not at all...thatt hey needed time to prepare...like packing 6 hours before we left vs 5 I guess...but that of course being evil like I am...makes me want to give them another trip surprise and totally surprise them this time...cause if they hate it and freak out...I will sit back and enjoy...videotaping the mayhem behind bullet proof glass...:3dglasses love being an evil mama!

I had my moments...let me tell you...some of the pictures of his leg still give me nightmares...the worst for me is knowing how long he suffered before a call for help was made...I need a boxing class to get over that anger...

Thank you for the support...all of you...:)

PM on the way...and I am so happy he did not need grafting...they were hopefull at first for Baylor as well...but it was obvious within a week that the worst of the burns would not grow new skin...the hard part was his donor site was so large and painfull after the surgery..that that actually was more traumatizing for him than the surgery...

Camps are great because they have a lot to talk about...pain...nightmares...how to deal with peoples reactions etc...and just beinga kidin the middle of teenage life...now being different when all they want to do is blend in...

Baylor is so lucky there was that pool there...it literally saved his life...and that is what I foccus on daily...

Thanks for responding....:lovestruc
