Did paying for DDP at reservation time start yet?

Any clarification on if you are booking for a family member or friend. How do you pay for the Dining plan for them? What if they are going to use their Rewards Card ( which is what I always do)? Sounds like one more thing to have to deal with.

You'll probably need their credit card to pay for it. Or pay for it yourself and ask to be reimbursed. Or tell them no dining plan for them.

I'm not positive that you won't be able to use your Reward dollars for the DDP once the new system goes into affect.

As the following statement from the MS website reads:

Just prior to the start of your vacation could still mean at check in. If not you can obtain the Disney Visa reward card in advance and when you call 48 hours before your arrival give MS that Visa reward card number to pay for your DDP. Tell this is a one time charge and that card is not to be entered as a credit card on the account.

According to MS, the dining plan will have to be paid for when it is added to the reservation under the new system. The CM wasn't sure about the Disney reward dollars and it wasn't such a crucial question that I told her not to worry about seeking a supervisor when she offered.

So, if you don't want to pay too much in advance, you will have to wait to add it until just before you leave. Since we are going in August of this year and won't be back again until August 2011, I have a while to worry about how it will work.

Worst case is that I start using my Disney Reward dollars for my MF's and take that money and put it away for the DDP.
