Interesting idea. However, I believe there is no appointing, just a special election.

Quite honestly, Palin is legend solely in her mind and in the mind of the far right. Her negatives went higher the longer she was on the ticket.

She is election poison for anyone. The best I ever see her doing is hawking lipstick on QVC.

I though she considered being a Governor better than being a Senator, with the first class exec experience and all. In her mind, you'd think that "slumming it" in the Legislative level would be taking a step backward...

See, I think this is so wrong. While I agree that people earn each other's respect, Obama has done nothing to *earn* my respect. He is against things that I'm for, yet, I am willing to give him respect to try to bring this country together.
It is a two way street uniting people together and it seems that it is only to go one way. No, she's not POTUS or VP so you'll have to deal with her very little but still, why the disrespect? Disagree all you want. This just shows me how it would have been if McCain had won.

Neither VP spoke last night. I agree with other posters that McCain gave a wonderful concession speech.

Palin essentially killed McCain's campaign. Of everyone he could have chosen to be his VP, I don't know what in the world he was thinking by choosing Palin. I highly respect McCain and loved his speech last night. I truly wish him well. Palin, on the other hand, was a joke. She had no idea what she was doing, and her "awe-shucks", wink-wink attitude was appalling considering the current state of the country and what high position she was running for. I don't think she'll be back anytime soon.
