Our Comcast triple play bundle expires tomorrow - so, during the past few weeks, our family has been talking to each other and Comcast about the various options. Today, we dumped the 99.9 of the channels we rarely watch and will save $80 each month! It felt SO good to give them back their DVR box and Tivo remote this afternoon - we're keeping the internet and phone, so our bill will go from $158 a month (the triple play package price, otherwise it would be $194) down to $82.

We are going back to the 20 channel option for $10 a month and the kids are totally onboard! They know we're saving for a Summer 2010 WDW trip/DCL cruise and this $1,000 will go a long way in helping fund that...:mickeybar

NICE!!!! Congrats! Now, go open a special account for your trip savings. Each month when you pay that Comcast bill, stick that extra money in that account. That way it won't get absorbed into your regular money and you won't miss it!

A caution - we decreased our Comcast bill by a lot a few months ago. Every month since then they've tried to add something to our bill. One month it was $50 for a home visit with repair, they said they took it off, next month it was the $50 for repair plus a late fee. Ugh. One month they "forgot" we decreased our cable channels and added that to the bill. Seriously - every month since we called, we've had to call and get it worked out. Very annoying!!!

Enjoy the extra money!

Congrats! I did that several months ago. We have Stand Alone Tivo, and I find that there is still plenty to watch/tape with just the networks.

Here's a warning: They figured out my next bill wrong. I went in and turned my boxes in in person, but they charged me for all the bells and whistles for 8 more days. It took another in person visit to get that corrected. Comcast.

Wow - thanks for the heads-up about the Comcast...ahem..."mistakes!" We'll certainly keep an eye out for any funny business.

I really thought the kids would kick up more of a fuss, when we brought up the topic of dropping all those stations, but they didn't. They didn't seem to care and even said "If we want to watch a special movie, we'll get it out of the library!" Love it!!! :lovestruc:lovestruc:lovestruc
