There had to be at least 20 other schools there. Lines for lunch were incredibly long. We ended up doing early dinner to make sure we ate before we got back on the bus.

Guest services was amazing. My son and I have annual passes so we had no use for the tickets purchased through the school. I was given the value of the tickets back in the form of a gift card. My son had so much fun shopping :)

On a short and busy day like that, it was really important to have a plan. We got into the park and went straight to Harry Potter. Got in the single rider line for Forbidden Journey with my kids and we were on the ride within 5 minutes. Got Butterbeer at the bar in Three Broomsticks instead of waiting on the long lines outside in the heat. Did single rider whenever we could and got all rides in one area of the park done before moving on to the next island. It was a long and tiring day but everybody had fun. Made me want to head back up for the rest of the weekend.

Oh, well. Maybe next month before the blackout dates kick in.

Black out for power pass was lifted to begin at another date

Go back for more fun in June !

May I ask how you got your ticket back in gift card?

Our son just went last week with his school and we are also AP holders. We paid $106 for the whole trip. The school said there is nothing they could do seeing we have AP's. I have no problem paying for the food voucher and bus ride.

Planned a trip for our high school chorus to attend the Music Workshop in April (awesome workshop!) and before I bought the tickets, asked if the two families who had AP's could use them and not buy a ticket. They said as long as they were usable, i.e. not in the black out period, we were welcome to do so. So next time, have them ask ahead of time and not buy the ticket portion. Universal Youth program employees are great to work with. . .

We did ask way ahead of time too.

Well, I printed out the school receipt and next visit I will go to guest services. A gift card is fine with me as I will keep the money plus more in the parks.

We did a pool day yesterday and came in late yesterday evening and we saw all the school kiddos in their different colored shirts leaving the parks.

I just brought them into guest services and they gave me the value of the tickets. The school would not separate out the cost of the ticket so that was the only way to get my money back. The ticket was only good for a six day period so it was pretty useless to me.

My guess is the person in charge of the trip did not ask Universal for you. Hope you get your gift card!
