It was pretty cool today, visiting the visiting Mickeys on State St. :smooth: There are 15 here, in about a 6-8 block stretch of State St. on both sides of the street, and they're pretty cool. One was Tom Hanks', one was Andre Agassi's, one was Kevin Barnett's, another was George Lopez's. Some others I didn't recognize the names but, they ALL list the charities that the money will go to from the auction. Field's and ESPN also have one each. We saw several hidden Mickey's on them as well. ;)

I'd say that at about 1/2 of the Mickey's (if not more), I spoke casually/quickly with other people also visiting the Mickeys. Mostly giving info, but actually getting some info from a young one, who informed us they had seen 2 so far (the last 2 we needed). ;) Also, at one, a mom told her DS to "get off Mickey and let these people take a picture, we live here, we can see them anytime". Well, LOL, so do WE! :teeth:

All in all, it cost about $20. $18 for parking and about $2 at McDonald's to get DD something to eat & drink.

So did I talk to YOU today?? :teeth: ;) ;)

nope....ya snubbed me....

I was on State Street looking at frogs...

OOPS!!!! wrong city....never mind...

actually...i had the good fortune to see the Mickey's @ WDW when we went in February...aren't they awesome?

( Hi Kim! )

sounds like you and your DD had a great time....that's cool! :cool1:

except for the 18 bucks for parking :earseek: ....DANG!

they'll name a street here after you for 18 bucks...... :yo-yo:

Nope I work downtown.. so I see Mickey during the week..

How cool geffric! So, you weren't working today I gather? ;)

BP, I would NEVER snub you, if I knew what ya looked like! ;)

So, two State Streets, frogs vs Mickeys? I'm glad we have the Mickeys, altho I hear those frogs are pretty awesome, too. ;)

Name a street after me for $18?? That's cheap, but I think in Chicago it may even be cheaper, considering HOW MANY streets are dedicated/renamed for someone. My OWN street has a dedicated name, not mine tho. ;)

I remembered three more Mickeys........Susan Lucci (postcards to Erica theme), Regis Philbin (a Notre Dame theme) and, Kelly Ripa (a New York theme). :sunny:

Not me, Kim, but you probably would recognize me anyway. :p Sounds like a good day.

How did you get Kelly out of McD's for only $2?

DD and I are planning on taking South Shore in within the next two weeks to look at the Mickeys as well as hit TDS. How far is the walk from Randolph St station to State St? It's been quite a while since I've taken the train and then we headed to Marshall Fields and Michigan Ave. I was with a friend who knew her way around. I'd appreciate any directional help!!
