Did I print my transfers backwards? Help!

Hi there!

Obviously, I'm new at this. I just printed off about a half dozen transfers using Avery Dark transfers, but then it occured to me, that I might be printing on the wrong side of the transfer.

I was printing on the white plain side, not the side you can see the printing on. Last copy I picked up, I noticed the "wrong side - the one you can see the pre-printed info on" feels a bit rubbery.

Have I been printing on the back side of the transfer? (Guess it's good I caught it before I started cutting!)

Someone Help!

Always ;-)

I am not exactly sure what you are describing. My transfer paper has one side completely blank and one side that has some red stripes on it. The red stripe side is the paper side and the plain white side is the side you are supposed to print on. I don't know if this helps you or not.

Thanks Amy!

These are Avery Dark Transfers, and I think the plain white side may be the paper, and the other side where I saw the writing is actually printed on the back side of the paper and I'm seeing it through the transfer. Very tricky stuff! (Like it wouldn't have been simple for them to put "Print on other side" on the stupid paper side!)

I'm going to run one of the transfers through again and print the "non white side" then peel it and see which side is the real transfer!

Wish me luck!

UPDATE: I printed one on the "other side" and it was obvious that it was the wrong side. The printing I saw before bled thru - it was waxy, and just to be sure I peeled a corner and it was clear that the smooth, white side is the correct side to print on. So happily I was right the first time.

It is confusing though!

Always ;-)
