Did I pick OK dates? Late April Early May 2024

I am so excited to go back to Disneyland after 6 long years! I have tentatively booked hubby and I at the Grand Californian from Sunday April 28th to Saturday, May 4th, with 5 days at the parks w/hoppers Monday to Friday.

Anyone have any thoughts on whether I've picked a good week or not? I'm hoping that spring break crowds will over for the most part, and it's before grad nites start. Not sure what nights to expect Star Wars nights on, but I'm hoping maybe only one night the week I'm there?

One curious thing about that week is that Tuesday April 30th the hotel price jumps to weekend rates, but I can't find any event listed that would explain that - anyone have any ideas?

The other week I am considering is the following week, May 5th to the 11th. That would have at least one grad night and I assume more Star Wars nights - any reason this week would be better than my initial plan?

Thanks everyone for any insights!

You might be looking at at least 2 Star Wars Nites during your stay regardless of the week you choose. This year they were on May 2, 4, 8, and 11. It's possible they could do one on April 30th which might explain the weekend rate. I'd imagine you'll have better luck the week you picked than the next week with 3 possible events. Late April to early May is supposed to be one of the least busy times. Just know the 2 Star Wars nites means you have to go elsewhere but those are good days to have park hoppers.
