I got my new dryer delivered today from Home Depot (yippeee-2 days from the date of purchase!), and they take away your old dryer for free....anyway, I still had an old dishwasher in my garage from when we replaced that earlier this year. I asked them how much they would charge to take that as well- they said they would do it for an additional 15. Now, I don't know if they were allowed to do this, or if they will be pocketing the $, but I guess I shouldn't care. I gave them an additional 10. tip on top of this- they delivered and installed the new dryer. Did I overpay or under?

Seems very reasonable, and with it being the holiday season im sure they could use the extra couple of $$. I know where iam if i wasnt to get rid of an appliance with the city ive got to purchase a $25.00 sticker to put on the side so they will haul it away. However I do know the garbage men in this area will take certain items for a small palm greaseing if you know what i mean. My landlord arranges things with them all the time. Ops now im telling other peoples buisness :X
I think you got a good deal.

I didn't tip at all when they took my sisters dishwasher! Oops! She didn't tell me to or anything.

Sounds about right. My friend just got a quote yesterday to take away her old stove when her new one is delivered and they told her $20.
