Did I make a mistake booking Poly Conc?

After reading all the GOOD things on the boards about the Poly Conc, we decided to split our stay and spend our last 4 nights at the Poly GVC. Now I'm reading several disappointing reviews... Somebody put my mind at ease, please!

Last year I had read several bad reviews prior to my visit. We went and I loved it. Now I'm hooked on Concierge.

Keep in mind that when most people get back from a wonderful vacation they probably don't post anything (like me). Sometimes you're just getting someone who wants to vent.

We'll be at the Polynesian in a concierge room in 5 weeks and I'm really looking forward to it. I know it'll be great! When I was planning our first family trip to WDW back in early 2001, every thread about the Caribbean Beach Resort was negative. That was the resort we had chosen to stay at, and after reading all of the good, bad, and ugly reports, we decided to stick with our choice. We LOVED the resort and had the best time!! I'm sure you will end up loving the Polynesian concierge

I work at a resort and some guests have a great stay and others have a disappointing stay. It depends on the guest and what happens to them. One will be positive and other will be negative.

We have done the Poly Conc and dearly love it. It saved us $$ on food, sodas, water, etc. Plus (if it hasn't changed since we have been there) their menus are different every evening. Its worth doing. You will not regret it.

We are big Poly CL fans. We have experienced some glitches on our last few trips, but nothing that ruined our vacations. I've read posts about check-in problems at WL, bedbugs at one of the moderates, etc. etc. so problems and annoyances happen everywhere. We're back at the Poly in just a few days, then again in October w/my MIL. The location can't be beat, there are lovely, charming CMs like Ivette, Chef Dick, and Kathy at the concierge building, and the atmosphere is soooo relaxing. I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons here.

I didnt stay concierge, but I did just get back from a stay ending with 4 nights at the Poly.
We had a few minor problems/annoyances, that did get aggravating. But with that said, I wouldnt not stay at the Poly again. Its absolutely beautiful there, the restaurants are incredible, the transportation is usually great...I could go on.
Problems can happen anywhere and they will. Just hope they avoid you, wherever you stay.

I agree with WendyinNC, if I didn't stay at every bad comment about all the different resorts I stayed in at Disney I would never be going there. With that said I read all those negative comments on the Poly but I still went and someone elses negative comments never were negative comments for me, Poly is a nice hotel and for it's age is kept up well. Go and have fun

Don't worry - you will love it!!

The only thing which comes close to the *magic* of concierge is the cruise!!

We just stayed Poly GVC in June. We had a very nice time there. The staff was very nice and helpful. Even when the lounge is "closed" you can still pop in and get a soda, water or snag a cookie. The daily offerings were very good. We did really enjoy our stay there.

My family just went through the same thing. Before we went to the Poly concierge last week, we would get really excited at every good thing we heard, and then depressed at the bad things. But my first experience at the Poly concierge was really, really good. Everyone was very helpful. Our room smelled smoky on the 3rd fl, but they even worked hard to fix that. No problems, no hassle. The food was wonderful, the grounds were lovely (we had a garden view), and the walk to the TTC wasn't bad. Finally, I LOVED the rooms. I am one of those people who has always adored the cute GF rooms, and I heard that the Poly ones were dark, etc. but I found them very relaxing and very pretty. Hope you have a wonderful time!

We loved the Poly GVC - I am disappointed that DH & DS want to do the CR this year. Don't second guess yourself- it was/is a good decision. Have a great time!

Thanks so much for the supportive words! After a year of planning, I'm getting nervous about this trip living up to our expectations! These boards have been such a wonderful help. It's hard to believe that we will be there in just over 3 weeks!
