We're booked in a 2 room OKW for Nov 30-Dec 7. Not knowing that I needed to make ADRs through MS, I called the regular ADR line. She said that I had to wait to make ADRs when MS opened and make my ADRs day by day instead of being able to book at 180 + 10 days. Knowing that I had a lot of hard to gets (i.e. LeCelliar, Hoop De Doo, CRT, etc) I panicked and said I was staying on cash instead.

Here's my BIIIIIIGGGG problem! She went ahead and booked me a 2 bedroom at OKW on cash, made me pay a deposit, and told me my total. In my panicked state, I figured I could just call in a few days, cancel my cash stay, and still have my ADRs and DVC stay. Now I'm wondering if I lost my DVC stay????

In my rush to get ressies, I think I really messed up. Can anyone advise what I need to do? Should I cancel all the ADRs, call MS, and rebook them and HOPE that I can get them? HELP!!

This is our second stay using our DVC membership, and our first trip in Jan was not this hard. I didn't make any ressies through MS for our Jan trip to VWL. I made them all through the regular ADR number at 180 + 10. I don't know what I did differently.

I always book ADRs through the regular WDW-DINE number with my DVC stays. I've never needed a CRO ressie to make the 180 +10 booking. YOu need to call back and get another agent or just call MS. WHen you call MS for dining, it sends you to the regular dining number anyway.

I don't think the CRO CMs have access to the DVC reservation system therefore I don't think they have the ability (or authority) to cancel your original reservation....I think you now have 2 reservations - a DVC points ressie and a CRO cash ressie. Call MS as soon as they open to make sure your DVC ressie is still in their system. Perhaps they can keep your ADRs intact and just attach them to your original DVC ressie instead of cancelling your ADRs and starting over (that may end up happening anyway but ask first). If you have to make all new ADRs, do it while you're on the phone today. After you get those questions/issues straigtened out, call CRO and cancel that cash ressie, cancel those ADRs, get a refund on the deposit, etc.

I am really confused, but it sounds like you have two reservations. One via MS and one via CRO.

I agree with the others call MS and get thier advice. They will probably transfer you to WDW Dine who I think will be able to 'move' the ADR to your DVC reservation.

Then call CRO and cancel that reservation and ask to speak to a manger and complain about the idiot CM you got originally. I have no idea WHAT she was trying to do, but she sounds like she needs training!

DVC is a breed to itself.
CRO can not see, touch or cancel a DVC reservation.
The ADR CMs can not see or verify a DVC reservation. They will ask for your reservation number, but they have no way to verify it.

I wonder if perhaps they are changing the way the computers accept 180+10 ADRs? Remember, many of our DVC reservations are also showing a ghost reservation on the main Disney site.

Sometimes these "upgrades" just make things more complicated. I've always booked ADRs through the regular dining line with no problems.

Wow, I booked my Sept. ADR through the WDW Dine # but am about to make ADR's for my next trip today....wonder how this will go:confused3

I'm not so sure that always happens. They may sometimes transfer you to the regular dining number but when I called this morning to book my dining reservations it was someone from MS that tried to book them. She did not have a CLUE !!!! After 20 minutes to book one reservations, I said thanks for the help and called the regular dining number.

All they asked for was the reservation number and she was able to get me what I wanted (which MS could not do). I was able to get most of what I wanted - no LeCeilier for nine - I can't imagine why ?!?!?!

Now if they would just get the hours posted I'd be a happy camper.

I hope you resolved your problem. I use the WDW dine number to make my ADR's. I just made sure to tell them that my reservation number was DVC and I had no problem at the 180 day mark. I would definitely get this taken care of as soon as possible. Good luck!

I always use the WDW Dine number for my ADRs. Last month I was on the phone with MS on another issue and asked to make an ADR at Jiko for 5 people at 5:30 PM. He told me nothing was available for a party of 5 until 9:00PM. This was at 177 days out. I said "thanks but no thanks" and called WDW Dine and got my reservation. I don't know what the MS guy was looking at but I don't think they are "dining" specialists.

I always use the regular WDW dining line, and I give them my home phone number. I'm always asked where I'm staying, but never am I asked for my reservation number.

I think you're OK, just cancel your cash reservation. OF course, you'll feel better after you talk to MS!

Bobbi:)

Thanks for all of your replies. :thumbsup2 You guys are the best! I wasn't sure if I'd get any replies since I haven't posted much here because most of the time I don't have an answer for the questions. I'm more of a lurker until I learn more!

I ended up calling our guide, and he verified that no one can touch our DVC reservation besides my husband or I. He transferred me to MS to be sure. I talked to them, told them what I did, and everything is cool. MS even hooked me up with a few ADRs that the regular dining number couldn't.

Basically, what it comes down to is the CM I spoke with at 0700 this morning at the regular line was unfamiliar with DVC reservations. She said I couldn't book with them because they can't book DVC ADRs, which semed odd since I had booked our January DVC ADRs with them.

So, I ended up with two reserations, one cash made this morning, and the DVC stay. I will call and cancel our cash one, get our deposit back, find out what I need to do with the ADRs I made that were attached to that reservation (my guess is I could just keep them, but not sure), and if I ever run into this situation again, I will tell them thanks but no thanks, call back and hope for someone more familiar with DVC stuff!!!

Ugh!

I called MS this morning, checking on our DVC reservations and then proceeded make ADR 180 +10. It was all done with the same cm at MS with the exception of the Hoop de Doo (we have a party of 8 which needs to be booked with group bookings(?)). It all went smoothly and I hung up wondering why people would call the regular WDW dining line. I guess it all comes down to training and I just had a lucky day!:yay:

has nothing to do with an annual pass, you don't even need to be staying at Disney to book an ADR, it's just like a reservation for a restaurant.

What I don't understand, is why did the OP have to book a cash reservation to book ADR's???

She didn't, somebody was clueless on the other end of the line!

I called last night for our Nov. 28th to Dec. 5th trip. I called the regular WDW-DINE number and made all of my ADR's except Hoop Dee Doo because I need to book 9 seats and have to talk to someone else. I also couldn't get LeCellier 185 days out--Grrrrr. She had absolutely nothing! Not one table, not one time slot! Grrrrrr!!!!! I had to give my reservation number and told her it was DVC. No problem, I don't think she even put it down.

Just poor training I guess. I didn't think the CM I spoke to this morning was correct, but time was ticking away (HAD to have CRT for DD even though we hate the service, and LeCelliar for Grandma) and that was the only way I could think of to get the ADRs without having to wait 2 more hours until MS opened. The regular dining line CM said she could only book ADRs for cash reservations, so I did it. I was surprised she could make reservtions, all along I thought only CRO could do ressies.

Oh yeah. We had to talk to group dining too for our party of seven for Hoop De Doo. I understand its for fire code seating capacity reasons they need to count little babies, but I still think its way dumb they have to count tiny ones! The baby will be about two months old when we go. It will be in a baby sling worn by me. It won't eat, likely it won't even cry. But, rules are rules. C'est la vie!
