Just booked 2 connecting rooms at POR for Dec 18-22nd, 2006. Got each room for $134. Is this a good rate? Kinda out of the paying cash loop as we're DVC members but are using our points for the 11 day next year.

Depends. Is that for standard or preferred? Is that with tax or without?
If it's without tax for a standard room, that's $5 off of rack rate, so nope, it wouldn't be that good. If it's without tax for a preferred/water view, that's not bad -- about 15% off. If it's with tax for a preferred view, that's a very good deal.
In all events, you did well, because you're getting a couple of days of "holiday" season at value rates, since your trip starts on the last two days of value season, before holiday. So whatever your rate, that's a little bit of a boondoggle. (If you'd started your stay on the 20th instead of the 18th, you'd be paying upwards of $200/night.)
