I haven't been to the Garden Grill in 4 or 5 years, but I swear the menu now sounds different than what I remember. Didn't they use to serve chicken, not turkey for dinner?? Not a huge deal if they did make changes, but I just want to make sure it's still as good as I remember before I make a reservation! I'm challenging all you Disney nuts out there to find an answer for me!

We went last September. I don't know about a menu change, but in my honest opinion, the food was terrible. We did the Deluxe Dining plan and ate a LOT of TS meals and our entire group of 10 all agreed that the food there was the worst. The salad and dessert was the "best" part of the meal. The main course was not edible to us. The characters were great though!

hmmm, what was soo bad about it?? I remember the flank steak being absolutely delicious the last time I went, I wonder what's changed??

We ate at GG for the first time in December 2004 and - with the exception of dessert, both adult and kids - hasn't changed much since. It was turkey then too. It's a fave meal of both my kids and DH. There are places I like better but it's never been inedible for us. I recommend you try it for yourself!

There was no flank steak when we went. I should mention we went during free dining time. I don't know if the menus change during then. We did have turkey and the fish and it was just not good to us. In my husband's words it was "bad buffet food without the buffet." BUT there's always going to be someone who likes/dislikes the food at the same restaurant so obviously it's just my opinion. You should definitely go back for yourself if you had such a wonderful experience. Did you check out recent reviews on allears.net?

IF they don't have the Flank steak when I go, which will be during the usual free dining offer, I'll be forever dissapointed with Disney.

Maybe they had ran out when we were there. I don't remember it being mentioned though, but I wasn't expecting it like you would be. You have me wanted to try it though! Another thing I remember was we waited an HOUR to be seated at GG. It was packed. We had a 6:50 ressie. Be prepared for TS restaurants to be crowded during free dining because everyone in the parks seems to be eating at them :upsidedow That was our longest wait all week. I would say the rest of the restaurants were about 20-30 min waits. It's worth the free dining though!

Everyone says that the waits are horrible during free dining, but I've never found it to be so. The longest we waited was 20 minutes at 'Ohana. The rest of them got us in in 5-10 minutes. I didn't find any of the waits to be worth not going at free dining time for sure... of course when you bring 6 people (5 adults) and stay in the values it's hard to beat the value of the dining plan.

This used to be one of our favs, but sadly, it has slipped so downhill as of late, we don't go anymore.

They have changed and tweaked the menu many times over the past 5 years, but it still hasn't helped, IMHO. It now only serves dinner as well.

I hope OP and others have a good experience there, but for us, after one too many times of horrible food, horrible service, confused character interactions, terribly long waits (even with ADRs) and broken restaurant revolution (it has happened on 2 trips in a row that were 14 months apart from each other), it's sadly off our list.

Other than the fresh catch always being catfish, that is the same menu as 12/04 and every other time we've eaten there. When they served lunch, the only difference was salad wasn't included at lunch.

We ate at GG last Wed (2/17) and it was our least favorite meal of the trip. Flank steak was decent and 1 person in our group liked the fish. The mashed potatoes were terrible (and greenish in color) - why couldn't they just do plain mashed potatoes? The stuffing was also pretty bad.

Salad, rolls with maple butter and dessert were good. Character interaction was good. We will not go back.....

This used to be one of our must-do's every trip along with Chef Mickey's but after this past June neither of them will be anymore. They have both really declined in our opinion so we are skipping them.

We were last there in Sept 09 and still loved the food - it was some of the best we thought we ate - it was noticably fresher than some of the other places. Salad, Rolls, Flank Steak with mashed, Turkey with stuffing/gravy, and catch of the day with veggies, then an amazing blueberry buckle with whipped butter/cream that was to die for..We were on the deluxe plan and ate many many many places...If you liked it before, i'm sure you will like it again!

We've done Garden Grill for the past 3 years during Aug free dining. Food has always been good, relaxed character interaction, never a wait at all. When booking our ADRs for this year, it was one of the first 3 my kids requested (CM & Boma the first 2).

We went this past December as well as 2 Decembers ago. They changed the fish from catfish to whatever the catch of the day was (definitely not catfish) and they changed the dessert to some sort of blueberry dessert. I believe they may have changed the salad dressing for the salad as well, but it was one of the only things I liked this trip. We were much more disappointed with this past trip and probably will not return. Out of 18 meals (deluxe dining), it was our least favorite. We do love Chip and Dale though!

We ate at the Garden Grill on the 6th of Feb. The meal was a salad, Flank Steak over mashed potatoes, Turkey over stuffing, Mahi-mahi over veggies and a blueberry buckle for dessert.

By *far* the best meal we had the entire week. The mahi-mahi was incredible, enough so that we asked for seconds of it. That dinner is a definite do again.

We had the same thing in December and it was one of our favorites all week..We asked for seconds on the fish too, but ours was Tilapia

MMM, Talapia, that's my favorite fish. Out of curiosity how was it prepared? the Mahi was breaded and baked. So good.

Just for further reference, we were told that the fish was fresh caught and flown in that day.

We were there in April 08 (but I am sure it was for lunch) and we had chicken, not turkey.

Now the potatoes...... I am sure it wasn't mashed potatoes when we went, it was more a potato bake, scalloped potato, creamy chunky type potato dish (don't know the name :rotfl:) it was so good, but it wasn't a mashed potato. OH I do hope the potatoes are as good, because they were SO delicious.
