Did/Do you have Brazillian groups at your resort? Which one?

I was just reading the thread on how obnoxious and trip ruiining the Brazillian groups are, but no one has mentioned anything about them at their resort (s) or problems there. I am picturing a food court nightmare as I would think they stay at the values, but maybe not...anyone have any experiences?
Would WDW tell you ( if you ask at booking) if the resort you are booking also has them booked there for your dates?

Pam

They had a massive one the year we went and I think it was because of them that our resort was overbooked (they placed us in another when we arrived).

We ran into them at the Soaring line in Epcot. It was deafening, they were pounding on any surface that would make noise and unfortunately the wait was the longest of any line we had been in at WDW (two hours). It was a miracle that I didn't get a headache from it.

I don't mind guests whooping it up but that was too much.

In all of our summer trips where we did encounter tons of Brazilian tour groups at the parks, we have never seen any at the resorts. I just assumed they stayed offsite since we have only seen them at the parks.

There were Brazilian tour groups when we stayed at the All Star Music hotel one July. They rode the buses with us quite a bit. I never had problems with them on the bus. In fact once one of the Brazilians offered my father his seat so my dad would not have to stand.

There was a large Brazilian group staying at All Star Movies in June 2006 when we were there. One night I went to the food court at about 11:00 to get a mug refill.

They were there...

The entire group was singing and clapping. Some of them were standing on tables. I headed towards the beverage fountain and watched as one of the group (they were all wearing the same thing) dumped his tray of garbage in the mug wash sink. You know... the one that is clearly labeled MUG WASH!

I think they were staying in the 101 Dalmations section of the resort. Luckily, we were in Toy Story.

My dad actually got into it with a group at MK in February. One of the group members was in front of my dad. When the rest of the group (around 50+) showed up, she waved them to ahead of my dad. I guess she was holding their spots. My dad basically told them that there was no way he was going to let that happen, so he just walked in front of the entire group. He was really mad!

We were at All Star Sports weekend before last and they were there. We are staying at All Star Movies this coming weekend and the following weekend we are staying at Poly.

Your dad gets a big :thumbsup2 .

We were at AKV last week and saw groups everyday no matter where we went...downtown, Epcot, MK, AK, or MGM. They were everywhere! They were very well behaved I must say. Although the group we saw entering Epcot on Monday was beyond a huge group! Honestly, there was no way they came from a WDW resort on the bus. They were walking from the bus parking area, but they all arrived together and they would have required at least 4 busses to get them all there.

The only problem we had was when we got stuck walking behind them. Their groups are so massive and they stroll along taking up the entire walkway and you can't really get around them.

I stayed in the Allstar Music in July of 05 and they were there a very very large group of them.
I avoided the foodcourt because they all arrived together and had a hard time understanding thier meal voucher program. One day I was in line for the AK and they all came out to stand in line for the bus, it was chaos. Someone from the resort finally called for extra buses, and those of us already in line let the tour group basically get on thier own buses because we did not want to be on the same bus as they were. They were already singing and clapping we decided to keep our sanity and wait for a third bus.
They were at the pool at night, again it seemed like the whole group just swooped in together.
I was staying in the Jazz building, but decided to go over to the quiet pool so that I would not have to deal with the group.

when its summer here its winter in brazil so keep that in mind and they do come by the hundreds all summer long
my family call them the flag people one stands in line with their flag for the group to follow for the bus as soon as the bus comes they all come running and get in line with the one person who stood in line leaving little room for other guest especially in the morning

Proteus...what resort did you get moved from/to?

Thanks!

Well that is the great part about it. They upgraded us to AKL at no charge! This is now my favorite resort in WDW. We liked it so much that we booked it two months later, something I have never done before.

to AKL form where? Which resort did you have booked that the groups were at?

We have encountered tons of them at the parks during our summer trips, but we have never seen them at the hotels. They must stay offsite - THANK GOODNESS!

one thing that I dont understand, and believe me I am not trying to offend anyone here, but why (if they are so loud and rude) does Disney not do anything about it, tell them that if they get caught holding a place in line for a hundred people they are going to have to leave the park, if they are going to bang on anything that might resemble a drum to them then they need to do it else where etc. I dont think that it is too much or too offending to ask someone that is clearly causing a disturbance to quiet it down or be asked to leave. I have never run into one of these groups (maybe because we go in the fall and not the summer?) but I can tell you my husband has NOOOOO patience when it comes to people clearly being rude.. must be the police officer in him::cop:
