I have trust in member services for the most part but this girl seemed very unsure which made me nervous.

Called to renew mine and my husband's regular APs. They expire at the end of this month. We aren't going again until November but I thought getting the renewal price would still work out better for us given when we plan on taking trips.

She charged me $820.06 which I think is the price I had figured on so I think that part is right.

She said I can pick them up at the window when we arrive. She didn't say anything about mailing me the vouchers or the green plastic card thingies. She said to bring my order number and the credit card we used to buy them. So will I receive anything in the mail?

She didn't ask when my APs expire or even verify that we had APs before giving the renewal price. I asked her if we needed to bring our old APs and she said it wasn't necessary.

The conversation just sounded weird and I got the feeling she was unsure of what she was doing. It probably is fine but I knew the dis would know!!! :) Thanks!

Price is correct:
$385 + 6.5% (sales tax) * 2

While you don't really need to have the APs with you to do the upgrade, they can search for them by name. The process will go quicker if you have them as they can swipe the the tickets to retrieve the information.

Seems that unless you push for exchange vouchers, MS won't offer them. You also have to pay a processing fee for the exchange vouchers. They are not really necessary with the confirmation number that the CM gave you.

What the CM told you is correct. We have renewed AP's over the phone 6 times now, and never had anything sent to us in the regular mail or thru email. All you need is the confirmation number that the CM gave you. Take that number, your DVC member card, your photo ID and your expired AP to the will call window at any park and they will have you a new AP in no time!

I always do "will call". That way you don't have to pay for them to be mailed and you don't have to worry about losing the voucher. I don't think it takes more time at the window. You do need to have your member card.

We renewed ours just after they expired and before we bought DVC. So we have a trip to Guest service coming this month when we attempt to get the amount we paid used toward DVC APs.

What you have been told is correct.

We have renewed our APs all three different ways.....

1) renewed in person
2) renewed over the phone and had vouchers mailed to us
3) renewed over the phone and received a will call number

question for all you AP experts - we currently have Premium AP passes, we were thinking of renewing for regular APs - do you still get the renewal price, or is that considered a "new" purchase? Thanks.

If you have WDW Premium APs, yes you can downgrade and get the renewal rate.

If you have the WDW/DL Premier Passport, you can't downgrade. You would have to purchase at the new AP prices.
