Did anyone watch Rock Star: INXS last night?

I can only hope with the band looks at JD for their band, they remember what the drama cost them in the past. I can't imagine these guys want to deal with someone who is difficult, uncooperative and unstable. I would think at this point they just want to make and enjoy music.

My thoughts exactly! JD is talented and he has alot of talent in arranging and writing also, but he would be the type that would always be rocking the boat! I think Mig has the talent, charisma and the personality that would fit in almost anywhere. And I am sure that some of the other talent (Marty, Jordis) will also do well in the industry. Some talk about MiG looking like an elf, he just has that innocent look to me, and there is something cute about him. Marty to me looks like a young Tom Petty.

I agree! I love to hear him sing. But I keep telling DH that he needs to let his hair cover his ears! And the hobbit comment is funny too! Maybe next week he'll have a new hairdo!

Jessica always rocks out the INXS songs! I thought she did another great job. Too bad she hasn't been bringing that same level of energy to the Tuesday night performances. The bottom 3 won't be the same without you Jessica. Hey OP - tell your cousin the DIS enjoyed Jessica and will miss her!

Have you guys heard if any ZZ Top band members are missing? I think I found one hanging around Brooke Burke's neck! She has an imaginative wardrobe coordinator.

When Mig first invited Jordis and Marty to join him I thought it was really sweet...until I realized it was obviously prearranged and practiced. I wonder who's idea it really was? Mig, the producers, INXS? No matter...I enjoyed his performance again.

I'm not so sure that was prearranged. Marty and Jordis looked genuinely stunned. Yes, they harmonized perfectly together, but some of my friends and I have been known to jump on the karaoke stage and spontaneously harmonize something, and it sounds great. They could just naturally sound great together. Or, they could have sat around the mansion harmonizing it for fun, but Marty and Jordis still could have been unaware that MiG planned to call them up there if he got the encore. Either way, I thought it was incredibly classy.

What do you think of last night? I don't think that Deanna is going to do well. I think that she'd be better off doing one of the other songs and letting Suzie do her song that she wrote.

I'm so bummed.......I finally remembered to tune into VH1 on a Sunday ~ but I turned it on at 8:25 thinking it was on at 8:30........so I missed it again.

Sounds as if they have the *option* to sing the song they wrote then?? I would think if they make them write a song...they would also have to perform it?

I will be out of town at a concert Tuesday night, so I am taping the show. Cannot wait to see it!!!

For future reference, VH1 has been repeating the 8 pm Sunday shows at midnight the same night, and again at 8:30 pm on Monday.

So, wasn't MiG's reaction when Simone showed up just priceless?? I had tears in my eyes...

The way the band reacted to Mig's performance, it looks as if Mig just won the whole shebang. He will have to mess it up really badly in order to lose now.

Marty is still my favorite, though.

I know I am a little behind but I have to say I have seen Peter Frampton in concert and I have his "Live" album (who doesn't?).

I must say that Mig's performance was better than the original (sorry Peter, I still love you though).

For the concert show only 2 of them have the option of singing their own song. The rest had classics to pick from. I think Dream On by Aerosmith and Start Me Up by the Rolling Stones were a couple of them but I can't remember the rest. It would be tough competition unless you have a really good original song.

They were all instructed to write songs that they were going to perform. But then, they found out that only 2 of them would be able to sing their own songs and the others would sing some real classics. They drew names and Mig and Deanna won. But Deanna didn't even want to perform her own song. So Ty co-wrote the song with her and then at her rehearsal he showed up and was just taking over and Deanna seemed lost. The house band also said that it's a safe song and that they don't think that it's what INXS wants to hear from her.

Mig was toying with the idea of not doing his song and letting Suzie do hers. (And then the house band said they thought Mig's song was kind of weak) She asked both Mig and Deanna for the chance to sing the song she wrote because she feels like she's leaving this week. Suzie did almost ALL the talking this episode. Also, they drew names and JD and Suzie got to go do a radio show with INXS but they didn't spend much time on this. And Mig's wife came.

I think that's everything.

Not only did she do the talking but she did ALL the crying. She was bawling and asking Mig and Deanna to give up their original songs.

And JD was his usual self. After the song selections, he proclaimed everything had turned out just the way he wanted. I think he better nail it this week or else he's in the bottom 3.

Just finished watching JD and I'm surprised by the band's comments. They don't seem put off by his attitude at all - one of them said JD seems to be the only singer who really knows that this is all about an audition.

My (not that anyone cares ) review:

Suzie: Wish I could have heard an original song from her. She started out weak, but ended VERY strong.

JD: I think JD has A LOT of talent, but it didn't show in this song. For the record, I think he would make a great solo artist, but would not fit as part of a group.

Deanna: I don't want a woman to front INXS, BUT SOMEONE GIVE THIS WOMAN A RECORD CONTRACT!!!!

Ty: Sounded constipated for the first half of the song, I really am not impressed with him. Second half sounded like he was auditioning for a speed-metal group.

Mig: AWESOME, any more need to be said?

Marty: STILL MY FAVORITE!!! (Not to mention the sexiest) However, I think Mig might be the favorite for the band . However, if Marty does not make it, I will by Marty's album before INXS, and that is a big thing for me to say because INXS has been my favorite band since 1983.

Jordis: I think Steven Tyler was covering his ears.
