Did anyone see the sequel to Dirty Dancing?

Yes, I am a true fan of the first one, I admit it! Is there any mention of Johnny & Baby, or is this just a stand alone like one of the Grease sequels?

Boy did that one come and go! I saw them promoting it on Seacrest's show then the next thing I knew it's on DVD! I LOVED the first movie!

My soon to be husband did the recording for the soundtrack. We got to see them shoot parts of the movie here. We have the soundtrack (lol I have to buy anything with his name on it) but have yet to see the movie.

I could be wrong, but I don't believe this one was a sequel. It looked more like a remake. Correct me if I'm wrong.

It was here and gone so fast, I missed it....and I had a free pass.
I think it only played a week at my theater.

I saw it and it's not a sequel. It takes place in Havana in the 1950s (when Castro is taking over). It's the same basic story line (upper-class girl meets street boy, they dance, her mother doesn't approve, they fall in love) as the first one. It has nothing to do with the original movie. Patrick Swayze is in it as a dance instructor, but he's not Johnny Castle, he's just a dance instructor.

The dancing wasn't nearly as good. There is one scene with the boy lead (Diego Luna??) is dancing in the street with a bunch of other people where he looks YUMMY, but the couple just didn't have the moves or the chemistry of Johnny and Baby.

JMO, anyway.
