Here's the real story - I've searched all of the newswires.
Apparently, the suspects had a 10:30 am PS for breakfast at Chef Mickeys. Of course, they parked their car in visitor parking at the Contemporary, enjoyed their character buffet experiece, and were about to go on their way. The lure of the castle and Space Mountain being so close, they were tempted to go into the MK, but alas they didn't have the funds. They quickly conned some sympathetic tourist into loaning them some money for admission to the park (including extras such as two bottled waters, a souvenir tub of popcorn, a churro, four premium Mickey ice cream bars, a turkey leg, and three dole whips with extra straws for sharing). In exchange, they conned the poor tourist by offering to sell their car, hence the for sale signs all over the thing. The tourist left with the license plate number written on an IOU! Hey it's Disney World - why not help a brother in need! The suspects then brazenly took the monorail over to the Magic Kingdom with the $500 hot little dollars given to them by some unsuspecting tourist. At that point, the tourist headed over to the Fort Wilderness Campground to tell everyone at the Settlement Trading Post about his new car.
All seemed to be going well over at the Magic Kingdom until some of that junk food caught up with the suspects and they had to return to the car for some Pepto which was warming nicely in the trunk. At the same time, security at the Contemporary suspected that someone was parking over the alloted time for dining only. The suspects emerged from their excursion and noticed security hovering around their car. They hopped in and raced away. A low speed chase ensued through the Contemporary parking lot (think O.J. here) and the suspects neared the edge of WDW property where state police were brought in to finish the mission.
