Did anyone score a free trip on United Airlines yesterday?

Error in posting fares resulted in $5 and $10 trips --- I didn't, but have been reading of others that scored $10 r/t tickets!

Sadly no. We normally avoid them due to late flights and fee, but certainly would have had no problem booking free tickets.

It was on the news and USA Today talked with some folks who scored the deals and where they were going. Orlando for $3.52. I NEVER look at United - they are WAY TOO much! But I was shopping for tickets yesterday - too bad I didn't buzz over there

Well, they may not allow these fares to be used, the news I heard today was that they may cancel these fares. It was a system glitch that they didn't notice and as soon as they did they shut down their whole system, phone and internet. I hope those that got the deals are able to use them, I would have bought tickets like crazy! LOL

United posted today that they are honoring the tickets. I had no idea what they were talking about. Man, I wish I'd known that yesterday, I have to go to Baltimore for Christmas and the cheapest ticket I've found is $530.

I heard about it on the news this morning. Right now we are a bit "vacationed out" but even dh said he'd take another trip if we could get a glitch like that.

Oh well, you win some, you lose some. We got lucky when HP closed out their Touchpads and sold them for $99 & $149. We were able to get 3 of them.

I actually DID check United when I was searching for airfare, but I guess that glitchy airfare was not from my city to Orlando. I bought with AA.

So no, missed it.

I actually have been checking United for an upcoming Hawaii trip, but I didn't look on Thursday. That would've been wonderful to happen upon! Ah well, can't win em all!

I didn't either, I check the fares at my local airport at least once every three days. Thursday wasn't one of those days. I'm glad that United is honoring the fares for the lucky few.
