Did anyone in Florida get either a postcard or email code??

I'm in South Florida and didn't get one. We never do get them. I was wondering if they just dont send them out to Florida residents because they are so close or if maybe we don't get them because we go so much.

I am very impatiently waiting for AP rates or Florida resident rates to come out for December. I already booked at POP because the weekend I am going is notrious for selling out. I wanted to make sure I had a room even if at rack rate. I hate paying 77.00 for a postage stamp sized room for four people.

I wish the Swan and Dolphin was available but they are sold out.

I have read all the threads about the E-Mails, noone that posted was from Florida, that I saw. I use to receive the occasional post-card from time to time, but now that they publish the Florida Resident Specials I don't receive them anymore.

I received the email - it's for a room basically during the month of September. (I think that's the ONLY month we're not going!) I had never gotten one before.

I am from Florida and did not receive the e-mail or the paper postcard. I have never received any sort of discount offer from Disney.

I live in South FL and I got the e-mail.

I also received a postcard at my house with a friend's name on it (she came with us in 2001 and I guess we just used my address).

Two other friends who also live in South Florida got the postcards in the mail (neither one has been to Disney in a few years..).

From what I read it seems like the postcards/e-mails are still going out so hopefully you'll get one too...

I've never gotten either. But a few years back my parents did. But usually there is a FL resident rate. I think (I could be wrong) that there has been a FL rate for everyday through Aug 28 so far this year. Usually there is always a FL rate for Sept since that was considered a FL month. When we were at PC last year there were rates out for all the hotels. I did get the passholder email but thats because we have seasonal passes.

One thing I have noticed in the past is that AP and FL rates usually come out before general offers. That is not the case for Sept. I hope this is not a new trend. I also wonder about all these rooms being sold out. When are the dates?

I was told by a CM that the biggest block of rooms discounted is the FL rate. Last Sept, Feb, and May I called on the day we wanted to go and got a FL rate. Even my brother (took his kids to BB and decided to stay over) got a FL rate by calling CRO from the hotel lobby that he wanted to stay in.

I'm hoping too for Dec codes.

Glad to see some Floridians receiving the E-mails

It's the December codes that were in some of the E-mails that I want...
Already have my September codes, November staying on DVC points, but I also wanted to take my neice and nephews down for a few days in December for the Christmas Decorations....

We Floridians are lucky because there are usually some discounts available most of the year.

Come to think of it I did get a postcard last week but it was for someone who has NEVER lived at my address. We have owned this house for 18 years and the people who owned the house before us were the original owners and that was not their name. I just looked at it....not sure why I hung on to it..... and it is only August through September.

The first weekend of December usually sells out because of MVMCP starting and also a lot of the Disney Boards and groups meet during that time. We have had this experience the last two years we have gone up there.

Im hoping they release the December Florida Residents rate soon. I would love to get that rate down. I don't mind staying at POP Century for 49.00 dollars but 77.00 is kinda hard to take for as small as it will be for four people. We may just move up to a moderate.

I have not gotten anything yet. We did receive a postcard but it was for the Sept rate.

We Floridians are lucky to receive a lot of discounts, but I also think we deserve it. Our state is so flooded with tourists that most of the time it creates quite a jam. We definitely deserve a break considering all that we have to put up with.

BUT, it was addressed to MY BEST FRIEND WHO LIVES IN DAYTONA BEACH!!! I have had her on my ressies for a room though, maybe that is why! Oh, well...it was for Sept too, but I want a code for Nov.!

Well for the last two years or so, all my ressies have been under my name so they sent the email to my DH. When all the ressies used to be under DH's name - they sent them to me. I really think they use the codes to get people to come back - if you already visit frequently - why offer you a discount when you are willing to spend more anyway? Who knows, seriously.

My Mom gets the postcards too but i suspect that is because when she goes it is normally with us under my name so they don't think she has been there for a couple of years either.

Perhaps they are inviting her back to get a room or ressie of her own this time?
