Did anyone hit Target today?

This is the first year in 5 years that I could not find any major deals at Target this year. I was so disappointed. I couldn't find a thing. I usually get my sister a bottle of red door and it's always clearanced and it wasn't today. Oh :( Hopefully you all had better finds.

I did Target first thing this morning and got the usual: wrapping paper, bows, tags, ornaments, etc 50% off! I am pleased with what I got! :rotfl: But would love to know when it will go 75% off! I will probably go back and buy some more! :Pinkbounc

Very disapointed with the day after sales .They just seemed like regulare Sun.paper sales.

Last year our Target had TONS of stuff the day after Christmas. This year the aisles were wiped and it looked like it does when things are 75% off. I was very disappointed. I picked up a few stocking stuffers (Mickey playing cards, Silly Putty, etc.) but nothing spectacular. They had some wrapping paper and bows, etc. but just not the WOW factor that I have gotten in the past.

I agree...I wasn't wowed by any of the ads in the sunday paper today (target's included). I heard on the radio that they expected today to be the biggest (money-wise, not accounting for inflation) shopping day ever because everyone has giftcards and has the day off.

Maybe the stores thought that they wouldn't need to "lure" as many shoppers? I stopped in Kohls and didn't buy much. (I'm still in college and don't really have my own house...so the clearance wrap and home decs don't really appeal to me yet).

50% off today. alot of people were at my target. nothing really left though. I did pick up some wrapping paper and a nutcracker since ds loves them. Of course I bought some storage containers for all the hallmarks that I bought today! :cool1:

I didn't think i had that much from target but $125 later I did bring home a bunch of stuff...mostly 50% off stuff

I did hit the 5 for 10 sale at B&BW today and spent $35 so got the new eau de toilette that I wanted for only $10 (it's usually $22.50 but they had a special price if you spent $35)

Now we're good for hand soap through at least april/may/june

My mom invited my cousins over today to hang out and then realized that she didn't get the baby anything (hes gonna be 2 in Feb). She ran to Target this morning and she found a Duplo (big lego) Fire House set! Well I'm a fire fighter and she knew it was a good gift even though it was more $$$ than she wanted to spend ($30). When they rang it up it said "item not found" and after awhile of figuring it out the Target people sold it to her for $5.76!!!!!

I went back later and bought the last 4 for my other cousin and my fire fighter friends as part of their holiday gifts!!

That was the only set we found on sale (the police station wasn't on sale like that)

Also picked up 20Q for two friends... on sale for 9.99 instead of 13.99

We hit two Targets and I found what I wanted: outdoor lights for next year, candy/chocolates, white tissue paper, and a doormat. The one closest to me was pretty cleaned out by 2pm but we hit another one tonight and it had a lot more stuff left so I found a serving bowl that matches some platters I already have.

Walked the entire mall as well and only thing I found worth spending money on was the 5 for $10 soaps at Bath and Body. That'll last us a good year, LOL!

There were LOTS of people buying, though. Guess they're anxious to spend xmas money and gift cards?

I got to our Target at about 9:30 a.m. and it wasn't that bad...Best buy I got was a set of flannel sheets (queen) for $10! Picked up some other holiday stuff, but found nothing outstanding...Just the normal leftover stuff. But, when I was leaving about 1 1/2 hours later, what a ZOO! No carts available and crowded...Glad to be going OUT the doors, even if it was pouring rain!

Me too! They had a great selection even though I went late. :cool1:

Ditto here...No great deals and Christmas stuff not cheap enough, I did see that alot of left over toys clearance down, but just 30% off. Nothing spectacular that I was hoping for, will just have to wait it out. I was also out early and the mall was a ghost town and about 11:30 or noon parking lot was filling up, everybody looking for a bargain.

We hit a number of stores yesterday and Target was the only one that was crowded. We hit our first one at 7:30 and you couldn't walk through the holiday aisles. My main goal was to get the large storage tubs on sale for $6, so we grabbed them first. I was amazed to see folks filling their carts with the 50% off stuff when Joannes and some of the other stores had already had paper etc for 70% off and Lowes right next door had everything at 75% off.

We hit the Target on the other end of town after lunch and I was surprised to see just tons of stuff left. It was also crowded and I just bought a couple of things that I really wanted. I think they'll still have quite a bit at 75% off.

We didn't do much shopping the last couple of years after Christmas because we were at Disney World, so I stocked up on some new lights and several decorations, mostly from Lowes. I also got a suitcase and some holiday stuff at Kohls. We walked the mall and didn't buy a thing. Some of the stores were nearly out of any Christmas stuff, and what was left just didn't excite me. I was amazed at how few people were there.

Keep us posted on any good deals you find.

I think our Target secret is out! I don't think there will be much left at 75% 0r 90%. Dh was in their back room and he said it was empty. It won't be like the years they have had skids of stuff left in the back to bring out at 75%. I went in with DH because he had to make a sales call on them yesterday and the only thing I got was some boxers for DS at half price. THere was nothing left in the christmas that I wanted.

We went since I had to get my DS some socks and had to pick up a gift for a my future sister-in-law. Lots of stuff 50% off. Picked up some Christmas cards, stocking holders, and even managed to get gifts for my future sister-in-law for 50% off! Yeah! (I don't like her much anyway! :maleficen ) Seemed busy but the lines weren't too long. We got quite a bit but it could have been a lot worse! (Plus you can't complain when you can get fudge covered mint oreos for $1.75 a box)

Lots of retailers have been burned in previous years, and have gotten a lot smarter about keeping inventories low enough that they don't have to worry about having to clear out a whole bunch of unsold merchandise should there be a bad holiday-buying season. I think retailers also understand now that lots of folks are buying gift cards these days, to give their gift recipients the chance to buy whatever it is they want, at after-Christmas prices, so the retailers understand that they don't need to discount quite so much on actual gift-type items, since there's hundreds of thousands of dollars of gift cards out there that are going to be redeemed in the next month or so.

Darn it! When I was at our Target - nothing good left, tons of people - I saw a Disney Mix Stick (I think that's right?) and was curious how much it was. It came up "item not found" too. I might've gotten a great bargain. I may venture back today and see if they still have it.

ours had a ton of Christmas items left - nothing that I don't want until it hits 75% Te best deal was the Glad trash bags. Got those for 2.49 for a 45ct box. Plus used coupons. I don't need trash bags for the rest of the year!
