Did anyone have trouble booking free dining last year?

Last year they offered free dining to the Disney Visa holders on April 1st and then to the general public on April 4th. I didn't get around to calling Disney until April 7th. The CM said that on April 4th, people were waiting for hours to make reservations, and that, they didn't really need to be that worried about rooms with free dining running out. I had no trouble getting what I wanted a few days into this deal and wondered if anyone did have trouble with room availability with free dining? Thanks

We weren't even planning on doing a WDW world trip until we started pricing DL trips in June. My dh said, "why don't you check WDW, just to see how much cheaper it is." That's when we discovered free dining. We booked on June 2, which was supposed to be the last day to book the free dining. We had no trouble getting into our first choice resort for 10 days in August.

As I recall, they still hadn't sold out the free dining, so they extended the deadline for booking another 3 weeks. This year, since they've already had the UK and bounce back offers, who knows . But last year was no trouble for us at all, even 2 months into the promotion.
