Did anyone else think the Disney Store sale was a let down?

Every year for at least the past 4 I have been going to TDS on BF. This year the store was empty (meaning they could have fit a few more displays in there) and the sale was blaaaaaaahhhhh. They had 20% off til 10 am, but all I got were PJ pals for $10 each, kids T Shirts for $5 each, and a Stitch Stocking for $10....then 20% off of those. Not bad for the stocking.

Their Xmas section was pathetic! 1 section.

Here in Rehoboth DE- scored 2 dolls 10 each and the castle- total 40% off on the castle- 20% off the store

I just remember other years there being a lot more products and a lot more discounts. My understanding is that they are offering different discounts over the weekend, but there was hardly anything to buy today!!! I ahve 2 boys and other than Cars stuff and TS there was nada....no Walle and my kids LOVE walle!

Even the Xmas selection was scarce...a few ornaments and a tree topper. Other years there was wrapping paper, cards, ornaments, wreathing, home decor.

I did not make it to the store, but was very disappointed in the online shop! Deals were the same as any normal day of the week, IMHO. Hoping they have something better in the coming weeks!

I went in today too, I was disappointed as well. They didn't have a lot on sale and they didn't seem to have much in general. Thankfully I only live a couple hours away and plan to head up to Downtown Disney tomorrow to check out the merchandise. Hopefully I can find some good stuff even if its typical disney pricing.

They used to have way better deals...this year was not good at all. I thought there was not that much on sale..I used to buy the adult t-shirts for $5 (regular season) and now it's $10 on sale....I bought the Prince and Princess from the new movie, and Kevin the bird from UP - that was it!

Do you think the difference in the merchandise and the sales is related to Disney taking the stores back over from Children's Place this year?

We don't have any Disney Stores in our city anymore. I would have been there for sure if it had been an option. Personally I'm VERY disappointed that Disney doesn't care enough about our city to even offer us the chance to shop. I used to stop in our local Disney Store several times a month. Now the nearest is 4 1/2 hours away and the nearest outlet is about 5 1/2 or 6 hours away.

actually the merchandise is still the Children's Place stuff as they plan way in advance - can't wait for the "Disney" run merchandise to make an appearance - also Disney is planning a major overhaul of the stores in the coming year

I am an early shopper and was disappointed when I found out that the disneystore.com does not accept merchandise after more than 30 days.

They seem to have good sales (not black friday specific) on the on-line store, but I don't want to buy gifts incase others aren't quite as obsessed with all things Disney as I am.

i'd LOVE to see the Dis Store the way it used to be...it had great merchandise...now if you're over 5 yrs old, there is really nothing there for you and very little even if yer 5. They'd get a lot more of my money if they had better, more adult merchandise.

I was not at the store myself, they closed my store and the closet is now 4 hours away, but my sister was on a trip and she went at midnight. I had her looking for several things for me, and she came up empty handed. She left the store without buying anything for either of us. She even sent me photos of what they had, and let me tell you it looked pretty pathetic! I am really disappointed in the lack of merchandise from the UP movie. Ds loves that movie and besides a couple of books and stuffed animals there is nothing, pretty poor marketing if you ask me.

I was. I forgot that the 20% off was only until 10 since everyother store in the mall had their discounts until noon or 1pm. We bought a Tiana doll, an ornament and a few stocking stuffers. I might take Tiana back if I can find her somewhere else on sale. I also got an email from disneystore.com saying that the toddler dolls were on sale for $10, but they were $15 when I put them in my cart.

This is not correct. All of the merchandise is now "Disney". Last year was the final season for CP merchandise. I have been with the store for over 16 years now and DAT was our best in a long time!!

YES! I was completely disappointed. I went to the Disney Store at the Montgomery Mall, PA, and also the Outlet in Lancaster, PA. Everything was ho-hum. They had sweatshirts and sweatpants that did not seem to be good quality . . . I used to love to give Disney store outfits (esp. baby outfits.) What the heck happened???

I went to the DS yesterday morning and bought a tote bag (25% off) and an ornament ($5, regularly $9.50). Plus, an additional 20% off.

Today, the same tote bag was 50% off and the ornament was also 50% off. I really didn't save any money yesterday morning.

I didn't go to The Disney Store yesterday but I did go today. Overall, I was underwhelmed. I bought a $40 gift certificate and bought the Christmas plush Mickey for $5.00. That's all I bought.

I wish The Disney Store would sell pins again.

Honestly, the Disney Store in our mall is always a let-down. They hardly ever have anything worthwhile. I guess if you have girls, there seems to be considerably more, but for my boys...nothing good. Once in a while I grab a few t-shirts or some PJs, but that's pretty much it.

I got my DD5 two dolls - Belle and Ariel. Normally 24.50 - they were $8 after the 20%. I was thrilled.

Our local Disney Store is like a dollar store- unkempt and with poor quality merchandise. I used to shop there alot and loved the higher quality clothing. The baby outfits were adorable. I will pay more for nice quality fabrics but otherwise I can get the same things elsewhere for less. Walmart had the Disney PJ's for $3.00 a pair on Black Friday. I can't stand the iron-on logos that wrinkle in the wash but used to love the embroidered shirts. Bring back the quality, and I'll be glad to spend my money there again. I haven't found anything I wanted for my grandkids in quite some time.---Kathy
