Hi again!!!!
We spoke to Disney's central booking last night and the woman said that th e Contemperary and Polynesian were already booked up from december 4-10 (when we would like to go) Not a problem because we usually don't stay at those resorts, but we were wondering if those resorts being booked means that it will be crowded. I've heard that December 4-10 was a great time to go and I was wondering if it is crowded? Thnx for any help!!!!!!

Also any known packages during that time PLEASE add!!!!!!

The Polynesian is undergoing a major renovation, so some of the longhouses may be closed at that time. I'm not sure about the other hotel though

December 4-10 is when Pop Warner will be there. Pop Warner won't really affect park crowds too much, but it will affect the different resorts - mostly the values and moderates.

I heard there is a large, annual convention at CR that week. I think it was political - either Rep or Dem.

Pop Warner is a national peewee football and cheerleading event. Here's the description form Mousesavers:

"Pop Warner Week - The Pop Warner Superbowl and National Cheer & Dance Championships are held at Disney World in early December. (Next event: December 3-9, 2006.) This may not affect crowds in the parks much, since the kids will be busy playing in the championship games, but the Value resorts and some of the Moderate resorts will be FULL of kids (both football players and cheerleaders). Expect a lot of noise if you stay there."

I'm going to be there at that time...what is Pop Warner?? I planned this trip at that time because it was supposed to be some of the smallest crowds!

I am going about that same time for the Disney Institute and we were supposed to be staying at the CR, but we will be staying at the Poly due to availability. (on hold now to confirm that )

When we went in February of 04, there was some sort of cheerleader convention type thing going on. We stayed at CBR and I know they were full up. The parks were not bad at all. Had it not been for a zillion groups of teenage girls and boys cheering on the lawn of the resort I never would have known it was going on! It was a bit more noisy and crowded at Old Port Royale at night, but not horrible. I don't know if this compares to Pop Warner, but from my experience it wasn't bad at all...

pop warner has nothing to do w/ the poly being full. I think i heard it had something to do w/ a special deal for travel agents or a travel agent convention.

Pop Warner has their event that same week each year. We went that week last year and I was pretty nervous that it would be really loud and crowded after I heard about the Pop Warner thing. But it was great - hardly any lines the whole week - just watch out for the Magic Kingdom on Friday! That was a little busy. You'll have a great time. Enjoy!

Over the past few years, this week has become more popular:
Pop Warner - Dec. 3-9 (mostly All Stars & POR)
Mousefest - Dec. 8-10 (discounts at the Swan/Dolphin)
Also this a busy week for DVC - low points, annual meetings & Christmas decorations make for full houses at DVC resorts.

But it's still not nearly as busy as the summer or holidays!!!
