Did anyone create an online newsletter? I think this would be a good way not to field 900 of the SAME questions. Does anyone have examples and/or ideas on how I could go about doing this?

I have a website for the wedding that contains a guest info section and a newsletter page (a blog). Feel free to check it out: http://www.andreahandbrian.com

All of the details about how it was created can be found in my planning journal.

There are also a lot of online services that will create nice looking websites for you or you can set up something nice with Blogger. (www.blogger.com)

Hope this helps!

Thanks Andreah (and/or Brian? Haha... it's so hard to tell who is posting on these boards!) Your website is EXACTLY what I'm looking to do. I love the cartoon picture with the castle. How did you do that??

Everyone else... more ideas are still welcome!! :-)

Ha ha! Thanks so much! I'm glad you like it :-) (I'm Andreah, but the proposal story on our website is from Brian's point of view)

The cartoon is kind of a funny coincidence, actually. I do a lot of graphic design as part of my work as an e-Learning director. Whenever I need stock photos for websites or training courses, I'll search a website called iStockPhoto (www.istockphoto.com). They have photos, but they also have a lot of "vector art", or illustrations like cartoons or clipart that can be scaled as large or as small as you need it.

So, not long after I got engaged, I did a search on iStockPhoto for "wedding", and I ran across this vector art graphic of a bride and groom. It looked so much like Brian and me that I had to do a double-take! So, I printed the graphic and started taking it around to co-workers and saying "Who does this look like?" They said stuff like "Don't be silly!", "That's you and Brian, of course!" and "Who made that for you? Did you make that?" So I bought the graphic, flipped the part on Brian's cartoon hair and composited the cartoon against the castle background. I think the artwork cost like $12 or $13. But don't tell anyone! We want everyone to think it was extravagantly expensive artwork that we had commissioned by an artist :-)

I created a website for our wedding as well. It is in my signature. Feel free to have a look. :)

Nichole/Shawn,

You guys are so adorable and I really love your website. It contains so much good information for your loved ones and guests!

My favorite part is the "How we met" story with all the Billy Ocean references . . . very creative!!!

It's so cool how you have links to the State Department for passports and to the order form for the planning kit. We won't be needing the passports, but I may "borrow" your idea and link to the WDW planning kit :-)

Happy planning and I look forward to seeing how your wedding turns out . . . fabulous without a doubt!

Microsoft publisher has some great templates for newsletters. I didn't have it, so I just went to Microsoft's website and you can download a free trial for 60 days.

I included general information, FAQ ("why are we doing it at Disney", "expected weather", "do you need park tickets", the dreaded "is mickey marrying you"), a picture of each of our three hotel choices and the discounted prices, a blurb about why they should stay on disney property, and their options if they don't want to stay on property.

I also told people I needed a general idea of who thought they could make it so I can invite others soon enough!

I sent mine out about 9 months before the wedding.

I am not handy enough to figure out how to put it on here, lol.

Thank you for the kind words. The funny thing is i picked up a book on building websites, read 2 pages, threw the book in a closet and just went for it. I told Nichole the Billy Ocean thing was a good idea. The funny part to that is I told her young nieces that was how we met and not knowing (or caring) who Billy Ocean is they believed me. We just looked at your website, very nice. It is very clean. Good luck with your wedding, it sounds like it will be a great time.
