dinner package?

We decided against it (hoping we can get in)...we ran out of TS credits...

I did! I don't think it is necessary, but I just remember two years ago having to get in line super early to try and get a decent seat.

I'd say if you don't mind either sitting at the very back or waiting awhile for a seat, you shouldn't have a problem without having the package.

I am guessing this year will be much different. Most CP waits I have seen even in the past were long. And stand by may or may not get in.
I think this year more people will try to get stand by. Although I expect the packages to sell out.
Also new this year is a new holiday D Light Tour, which includes CP. So I am guessing there will be less seating available.
If CP is a must do, book the CP package.
If you don't mind maybe not seeing it, or just hearing it from a distance, then don't worry.

I booked it, but only because my mom is going with us and she can't stand in line for hours amd I won't waste hours standing in line, but she really wants to see this so if it makes mom happy I'll do it. If it were just me I would not have. I will pay OOP for this (actually I'll use Disney Visa Rewards) instead of wasting 2 TS credits.

I booked it for DH and I for 12/17, with Chefs de France for dinner (wanted Le Cellier!). We are on Deluxe Dining, staying 4 days and 3 nights, so we kind of had TS credits to spare.

Would you be so kind and explain this tour and how you found out about it? Is this open to the general public? TIA

It does bite to use 2 TS credits per person, but I do like getting a more centered upfront view. Also, I want the appetizer and I like the idea of preferred viewing for Illuminations.

Enjoy the show! I am hoping we get in to one of many of them...

We did. We booked one lunch (Le Cellier) and one dinner (Tutto Italia). We'll be paying for the lunch since they take 2 TS credits now.

What I want to know, is, is there a special menu, or do we still only get entree and dessert with the TS credits?

Bobbi:confused3

We booked Chef de France for the early dinner (3:30) for 12/11. We also asked about the menu and the CM told us that we chose from the regular menu, we were also told we would get appetizer, entree, and desert. We decided not to do the DDP because of this change. We get back from the cruise and staying at the BWV for 2 nights. So after hearing that it would cost 2TS, we decided not to do the ddp and will be paying OOP. We were going to do lunch, but dinner was barely $9 more and a better menu selection. We've never done this, so this is a new thing for us. Since we are there the weekend before the cruise and the weekend after cruise, I decided it would be impossible to do the CP on a weekend night and we didn't want to waste what valuable little time we have in WDW by standing in a standby line and not get in.

We will be doing the Candlelight Processional for the first time on the 18th. We're going to the first show at 5, and will be doing a late lunch at Biergarten (one of DF's favorite restaurants). I, however, couldn't see using 2TS credits for lunch at Biergarten, so we're paying for this one OOP. Does anyone know if you pay OOP for the package if the appetizer is included, or is that only if you use the dining plan?

We also booked the CP at Tutto for dinner on 12/20 on the dining plan but we are using the deluxe plan so we had plenty of credits to make it work. I am not a big fan of waiting... :rolleyes1

We booked the package for Dec. 18. We will be dining at Rose & Crown Pub. This will be our 10th straight year of doing the CDP

We are going to be there 12/6 to 12/15. We did not book CP because I could not see using 2 TS credits for a restaurant I can normally eat at for 1 TS (even if I do get an appetizer). I love the CP but have sat outside the theater before and watched with my children when they were toddlers and we will do that again if necessary. :)

:goodvibes We booked it. We have never seen the CP and I don't think my kids would want to stand in line. DH is a music teacher, DS8 is in boys choir, and DD6 loves music, I know they all want to see it. We have dinner at LeCellier. :cool1: We are on the deluxe dining, so I could spare the extra credits.
