Did ANYBODY like CBR?

WE just stayed there in May for the 1st time and really liked it. Yes it is spread out. Yes the check in process is a pain. However it was very pretty...great room....wonderful food court ( the food and other items were cheaper than at Pop).....great location.

We have stayed at every resort on property except Saratoga Springs and Old Key West. We are hitting the last 2 on the roster next year! Although the Grand, Yacht, and Wilderness Lodge rank as my favs so far...I would stay at CBR again in a heartbeat!

We loved CBR! The only reason we aren't going to stay there this time is becasue my DS wants to stay at ASMo, and he won. We definitely plan on returning to CBR!

I have read the threads about the people that would NEVER stay at CBR again and I wondered if they stayed at the same resort I did!

Yes, it is VERY spread out. However, I have stayed there twice and been lucky enough to have my room requests to be in a building next to Port Royale (pool, food court, bus stop) granted. We always know there is a chance to be on the other side of the resort though and are prepared so it won't ruin our trip. There is an "internal bus" that will take you to Port Royale to eat, swim, shop, etc.

The rooms are absolutely wonderful. The largest rooms of all the moderates and very clean and well kept.

I only encountered wonderful CMs at check in, mousekeeping, and the food court.

If I had to complain I would say that being on the 2nd or 3rd floor with kids and luggage and no elevator can be a problem (but I always request ground floor).

I would stay at CBR again without hesitation.::yes::

My family LOVES CBR! We love WL too...so if we like deluxes and CBR, a mod, then that portrays CBR pretty well. I think the theme is just so cool, so pretty. And the services have never given us problems. 2 thumbs up! ::yes::

If you check my signature you can see that I have stayed in a lot of Disney resorts and CBR 2 times last fall. This resort is great!!! I am actually discovering that for the money the moderates are great and turning out to be my favorite. I don't need a sit down restaurant at the resort since we normally have a car.

I love it at the CRB. The people that work there are great.

We are heading there for our FOURTH time next month so there must be something about we like - you will love it!!

My suggestion is to request Jamaica, Bldg. 45 - it is a 5 minute beautiful walk to the food court (over a walk bridge and through a small tropcal lush garden-like area). The fireworks from the beach on the hammock are incredible and about 85 - 90% of the time the Jamaica bus stop is the first for pick-up and the first for drop-off.

You'll have fun - no worries!!!

We had a negative experience staying at CBR, but my parents had a wonderful time when they stayed there. My sister has stayed there as well and you can place her in the positive column.

A positive point is that each building or group of buildings has its own parking lot. If you are driving, this gives you quick and easy access to your car.

You may not get a room close to the main building. If that happens, don't eat there. Use it as an excuse to eat somewhere else, and then just drive there.

The rooms are a good size for Disney as well.

We LOVE CBR, stayed there for our honeymoon in 1992, went back in 1994,95, 98 and 2000.
I have always been bewildered at the fact that so many people don't like it.
It is so pretty, I love the ambience, the bright tropical villages, I liked the food court(even before they redid it), liked the music, and believe it or not, we always enjoyed the walk over to the food court area, I know some people don;t like it because its too far away from some of the areas, but we never found it to be a problem-a 10 minute walk is pleasant for us.

Just for the record my brother stayed there on his honeymoon in 2002 and loved it..and I have 3 friends who love it as well...so not everyone hates it. LOL

my partner and i stayed at CBR in sept. 2003. we knew nothing really of this resort (this was before i found disboards!)and we were very pleased.
we were in Aruba room 5555. lots of peace and quiet. didn't see a ton of people. the "beach" with hammocks was right outside our building and nobody was ever there, so it was like a private beach. LOVE those hammock! very very relaxing. about a 10 min. walk to OPR. but an enjoyable one. landscaping is impeccable (as is mousekeeping). also there are animals! turtles and ducks and fish in the water you can feed! lots of fun. main pool is very nice (try the mango coladas!) plus they have all those smaller private pools which rock. one night we had to do laundry and the laundromat was right behind the pool. we swam while doing laundry. now THAT's the disney experience. dining at OPR had everything we needed and was very easy. plus buses couldn't have worked out better. go over to OPR in a.m. fill up mugs, jump on bus from there. come back and bus dropped us off at a bus stop practically right in front of our room. so i recommend it highly! jamaica or aruba are both nice bldgs.

have fun!!!

and we LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! We just came back Aug. 5th from 8 nights and did'nt want to come home. People just need to give it a chance. Yes it is spread out, we were in the farthest building(Trinidad South) and still loved it. The walk really is'nt that bad, especially looking at the beautiful landscaping, view, feeding the ducks, watching the bunnies hop around. The walkways are nicely lit at night and the fireworks view is awesome! We loved lying on the hammocks watching them. Our room was sooo roomy and bright. The kids loved choosing which pool to swim in and the refillable mugs were definately worth it!:)

We spent 3 night at CBR. I loved the layout, building styles, colors, etc. Yes, you might say we were a hike from PR, but hubby and I saw this as a beautiful, romantic stroll. I would definately stay here again--it is a beautiful resort.

Well, I was one of the ones on that thread that said I wouldn't go back. It is a nice resort, I stayed there for 7 nights and it certainly wasn't anything that spoiled my vacation. I did ask them to move me to a more convenient room (which they did). There was just a string of events that contributed to my overall impression of the place that contributes to why I wouldn't go back - and chances are it wouldn't happen again. I went there with an open mind and excited to see what it would be like - it is a beautifully landscaped resort. I was disappointed that I was not as impressed as I had hoped to be - BUT! I was glad that I tried it out and certainly don't regret staying there - I just probably won't go back.

You need to go with an open mind and decide for yourself. Like someone said - if you are unhappy with it you can ask them to move you to another room or resort! I wouldn't worry about it and just plan on having a wonderful time at CBR.

I have to say we absolutely loved it (keep in mind we've never stayed anywhere else so we've got nothing else to compare it to). It's so peaceful and lush and calming. Mousekeeping was fantastic and everyone was extremely nice.

I have stayed at CBR a few times and I just love it I'm taking my mother there and I can hardly wait to show her everything that they offer at the resort!

We just got back from the CBR this morning at 2am. I loved it. We were in building 25 our room # was 2550. We had a great view of the water, the stairs were right there and Old Port Royal was just steps away. My dh on the other hand hated it. it depends on what you like. My dh stayed at the poly as a child so he's a tad bit snobbish about it, he HATES change! We are going to try something different next year just to try something else, but I would stay there again in a heartbeat. Our only complaint was we were there when Charlie came in and they moved us to trinadad south because our building floods. It took forever and the weather was getting worse so we finally moved ourselves. Then the porter wouildn't lend dh the cart for the last remaining bags when one of the rain bans were coming in. Of couse then I had to hear about how at the poly we wouldn't have to do this.

But as I said I loved it.

Stayed at the CBR in May. Out teenage kids loved it. We enjoyed the walk from Jamaica across the bridge. I jogged around the lake every morning before breakfast, and really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Compared to the comments I read about other resorts I can honestly say this about CBR rooms, I did not hear or even know that we had people in the room next door until day 13 of 14, and only then because someone was singing in the shower. I have given the kids the option of trying any other moderate or value resort for our next trip and the answer is a flat out no! - they want to go back to CBR.

We love the CRB. It's like a vacation in itself. It really feels like you are on vacation there.

In 2001, we decided to stay At Fort Wilderness Cabins. We hated it and got moved to the CRB.

My whole DF loves it there. My DD is going there again too!

Enjoy!!
