Did anybody experience EMH the week before or the week after Easter. I know the park hours were very long but did any of you stay on for EMH.

1. What park did you do EMH?
2. What were the crowds like?
3. What time were the EMH?
4. Did the crowds thin out towards the end?

We've done EMH at quiet times and we didn't experience long waits at all but busy times will obviously be very different. We'll be going between Christmas and New Year and will be staying onsite. Need your advice to know if it will be worth our while.

Thanks
Tracy

Hey TracyK!

We were there from Friday before Easter until Thursday after Easter.

We did MGM EMH and MK EMH. Both of them were AM. We really did enjoy the park for that frist hour - hour and a half. We did not do the MK night time EMH, but talked to a family that did. They said that the lines were very short after about 12:30 am (the park was open until 3 am). We just didn't want to stay up that late!

It (in my opinion) can be worth it. On the other days we "slept in" and just showed up when the park opened on a non-EMH day.
DD rode EE 5 times!! NO LIE! We used FP and single rider line! Single rider line was the BEST! You could literally walk right on!

At MGM we got FP for TOT and rode RnR twice with standby then got another FP for RnR. Used our FP return time at TOT and also did standby for that. Considering that it was peak time we found the parks very managable. Always took a break when the parks got crowded.

MK rode SM twice, once with FP and once standby. Did BTMR a few times too, Splash was just as easy.

Hope that helps.

We also only did a early at Magic twice it was unbelievable there was maybe 500 people there the on the wensday and less than that on the saturday after a ehm evening . We were able to do space ,buzz,Pan,Pooh,Snow White Dumbo,Carousel,Small world all of this in the first hour without having to run and we were also the first waiting at the frontier land rope. We did talk to a couple workers that did work the nite before and they did say that by 3am it was very slow as well.

We went Easter '05. We have young children so knew we couldn't take advantage of the evening extra hours, but they sounded like great fun.

MK was open early every single day and we totally loved hitting MK early -- think we went 3 mornings. Definitely worked out well for us, first hour was a dream! :wizard:

On Easter Sunday we were planning on hanging out at the pool at All Star Sports as this was our check in day and we had lunch at WL earlier. Well, the pool was so crowded we decided to hit the parks. There were EMH at MK that day. We got to MGM around 4:30pm and made the last show of Lights, Motors, Action at 5:30. We hit some rides and shows and made the 10:00 show of Fantasmic (not a full theater). After the show we headed back to All Star - got into the parking lot and said - how many times can we experience MK until 3:00am and decided to head there. We got there around 11:30pm, got our wrist bands and headed into the park. We rode so many rides I could not believe it. I wanted to ride things that I had not ridden in ages so we walked on Peter Pan, Snow White, It's A Small World, Buzz Lightyear, Stitch, no wait time for PhilharMagic, we rode Big Thunder Mountain, we rode Splash Mountain 3 or 4 times without even having to get off. Did not do Space Mountain (I don't ride that). Could have walked on Pooh and Dumbo but did not want to. There were people walking around (including small children) but it was not too bad. No one seemed tired or cranky (hey, it's Disney) and it was the best time. My boyfriend kept saying we should head back to the hotel and I said why - there is no waiting for anything and we can sleep in tomorrow. Only thing I wanted to do that we didn't was Pirates but we passed it a little after 3:00am as we were leaving the park and it was closed.

We slept in the next morning till around 11:00am - considering we did not get to bed until after 4:00am. We headed to AK as this was their EMH in the evening. Of course the FP were all given out for Everest by this time but they reset the FP machine at 8:00pm (when the park closed to the public) and we got a FP for 8:55pm. At 8:55 pm we walked right on and were off the ride by 9:05. My boyfriends son then rode it again in the singles line and was back to us in the gift shop 10 minutes later. We stayed at the park until around 10:30 and then headed back to our hotel.

My boyfriends dad lives in Orlando and we stay with him but we wanted to spend two nights in a Disney hotel to take advantage of EMH. We checked out after two days but stayed in Orlando until Saturday and spent more time in the parks and water parks.

Both my boyfriend and I are in our mid 40's and his son is 17. We loved the EMH but for us the evening hours worked out better than the morning ones. Besides the fact that you get 3 extra hours instead of just 1 in the morning.

We did the morning EMH as well.....it worked great, as usual. We did EVERYTHING we wanted to at MK!!! With 3 kids in tow, that's awesome in my book!! As we were leaving the park after lunch we passed by the gillions of people that were showing up at 11:00am!!! I do also need to mention that we had help from Tourguidemike.com who helped me put together a terrific itinerary.....I always use him for our holiday/busy season touring!!! :thumbsup2

We were there April 11-18. Our 3 teen ds did alot of the late emh because they like to sleep in late in the mornings. I know the one they really liked was the MK on Good Friday. It was open till 3 am. I know they didnt get back to the room till after 2 am. They said they rode all the mountains like at least 4 times in a row, not each, but in a row. They said the cast members kept saying to them, there is no line waiting, would you like to stay on and ride again etc. Of course they said yes. They also did AK late emh and I think that was almost till ll. These are not the typical late emh times, but more of the typical emh late holiday times. I think 2 of the ds said they rode everest about 6 times during this time frame too. I cant remember if dh and I stayed for any of them, I dont think so. I did a trip report. My aunt died so I really wasnt in a vacation mood.

Thanks so much for the great replies :sunny:

We were there the Wed, Thurs, Frid before Easter and I agree with all the other posters - the mornings were the best. We took breaks in the afternoon as the crowds just poured in. My sister did the EMH night at MGM and said it was awesome - very little lines. We then tried to do the EMH at Epcot even though I had planned to stay away. I was disapointed that the standby line for Soarin was still 90 minutes half way through the EMH and they didn't pass any additional FPs out after the park closed to the regular guest. We did TT in standby and it only took about 25 minutes even though the sign said 45 minutes - this was right when EMH started so my guess is that got better. Just note, it was very difficult for us to get on Soarin at anytime of the day unless you got to Epcot first thing in the AM. I LOVED SOARIN. Probably my favorite ride.

We stayed at the GF and the pool wasn't too bad either and it never felt crowded there.

I would without a doubt go during a busy time again, but I am hoping to get a trip in during off-season before my oldest starts 1st grade in August of 08.
