I got a call from Disney Dining last night. They wanted a credit card number for a PS I have at Chef Mickey's on Mother's Day. This PS was made in January. I understand that Mother's Day is considered a holiday for dining, but I was just curious why they didn't ask for the credit card when I made the PS? Did they call you regarding your mother's day PS?

Not going then, but for meals on holidays or special days like Mother's Day, they usually do require credit card hold at places like Chef's. Somebody likely forgot to get it when you made the ressie.

i hope this helps you, we were just there feb. 14th and i had made ressies at the front desk before the 14th for canada cellair steak house rest. (4:50, the only ressies left)well cm didnt ask for a credit card, and we ended up going to epcot the day before and i told dh that im not going to use a day on my pass to go back to epcot to just eat dinner, so on the 14th i called to cancel and was told by the dining cm, that i had to go or they would have to charge my credit card for the meal that i didnt eat, i said i was never asked for a credit card and sure enough he checked and there was not a cc on the ressies, he said their new policy is on holidays all ressies must have a cc on them, so people dont cancel at the last minute and other people cant get in, i didnt feel bad since i tried every day of my stay(10 days before the 14th) for ressies just about anywhere and canada was the only place at 4:50, not the greatest time for us to eat especially on valentines day. so, its because of the policy being on a holiday.:) :)

When I made my PS for PSB, they asked me for my credit card info. I told them they must have made a mistake, that I was calling for PSB not Cindy's. They said that they had it right and since I was making a PS for Mother's Day, this ressie required a credit card. That put me in a panic because I did not have my card on me at the time and that was the only opening they had for the whole 2 weeks we would be in Disney. They were nice enough to hold it for me until the following day and Disney dining did call me to get the credit card info. I never knew this policy existed.

Just made a PS for the Fantasmic Dinner package and was asked for a CC to hold the PS. They stated that as long as we canceled 48HRS prior the CC wouldn't be charged.

The PS is for 3-17, Saint Patrick's Day, so not sure if the CC was for the holiday rule, the package, or both.

Oh well...At least we were able to make a PS. :smooth:

The Fantasmic Dinner Package is currently a prepaid package. You need a cc to book it even when it is not a Holiday.

FWIW, I do not believe Disney Dining considers St. Patrick's Day one of the holidays that require a credit card to make a PS. Could be wrong though, as in my experience, Valentine's Day wasn't one either. :D :) :) :D

Valentine's day is now considered a holiday that needs a credit card.

We had 2 reservations (breakfast and dinner) on Valentine's Day, but we didnt' have to give a cc# for either one. It must be a new policy so they forget to ask for the # a lot.

Does anyone happen to know what the cancellation policy is for a PS on Mother's Day? Thanks!

I was told that you have 48 hours prior to your ps to cancel or you will be charged $10.00 per person.

If this is true, then why would they have told me that I wouldn't be charged as long as I canceld 48HRS prior.

I am pretty sure that it ISN'T a prepaid package, at least right now. I read that at one point it was, maybe that keep people away. I mean I like the fact that I can cancel if need be, which I don't plan on doing. My plans are to check the 5 day forcast before I leave becasue they told me that the show could be canceled if there was bad weather  and then I would still have to show up or pay anyway.

Let's pray for clear skies over WDW March 14-22!

It was not prepaid for us either on 12/29/02. We had to give a cc# but would only be charged the $10 if we didn't show or cancelled. We got a bill at the table after we ate and had to pay then.
